Hello and welcome to HACKERGAME Devlogs.
I've been wanting to share some of the development processes of HACKERGAME with those who are curious about the game's current status for a while. I am hoping that this devlog series will satisfy you. So let's begin;
The first network analysis tool we created was also used to hack the target networks, which was almost 70% percent of the game. Even though HACKERGAME is an arcade experience, we didn't want all the hacking to be done through one single software.
If you've seen the old screenshots of HACKERGAME on the steam page, then you've probably seen the old TARGTR interface. For those who have missed it, here is a photo of it:

TARGTR's purpose was to both scan the target ports and attack them with built-in exploits. Like Nmap combined with Metasploit. But as I said, this gameplay mechanic was way too arcade and wasn't fun at all. So we've removed the hacking option from TARGTR and made it only for information-gathering purposes. With this change, I've redesigned the UI of TARGTR.

The original TARGTR works directly on the terminal without any user interface, the version you see above will be available further into the game. But of course, using or not using it will be completely up to you. If you like things in a more old-fashioned way, you can keep on using the terminal version.
So this is it for this Devlog episode. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for HACKERGAME. You can also reach us from Discord.
