Happy New Year Deer Gamers!
Hope you all had a great holiday! It's a new year with new goals. I'm aiming to use January to work through the feedback for Reindeer Story and make as many changes as possible to improve the experience!
This patch is focused on the Snowmobile, there were a lot of critiques regarding the speed and control. Changes have been made to enhance the level of control the player has over the snowmobile and address the issues. Please let me know what you think of the changes!
Changes have been made to slightly reduce the speed of the Snowmobile and dampen the effect of turning as the vehicle speeds up to make high speed controls feel less volatile.
Functionality has been added when holding Accelerate and Break at the same time on the Snowmobile. It will have the snowmobile accelerate or decelerate to a slower fixed speed comparable to Lux's running speed with strong turning ability. Using this you can gain more precise control over the vehicle when needed while keeping moderate speed, and release break when you want maximum speed!
QoL
- The following changes have been made to improve the experience in the Snowmobile:
- Reduced Top Speed of Snowmobile by 10%.
- Increased Jump Height of Snowmobile off ramps by 10%.
- When travelling above half of the Snowmobile's top speed the turning will gradually reduce by up to 33%.
New Functionality
- Holding both Accelerate (Jump) and Break (Cancel) simultaneously while riding a snowmobile will have the Snowmobile accelerate or decelerate to 55% top speed, which is comparable to Lux's speed while dashing.
- If you're not riding the Snowmobile when you enter a screen with checkpoint flags in the Snowzone or Jack Frost's domain the snowmobile will automatically be summoned at the nearest checkpoint flag.
Bugfixes
- Fixed collisions in the Tinsel Town Church that lead to it being possible to get trapped behind the walls near the bookcases.
- Fixed a typo in Enoch's dialogue in Tinsel Town church.
That's all for today's changes, I'll be working on more of the feedback and keeping an eye out for further feedback so any reviews or comments are appreciated!
As mentioned earlier if you play with the newly adjusted Snowmobile mechanics let me know what you think, I'll make some further adjustments if needed!
Thanks,
Azzie
