Since the initial announcement in October, I’ve been working intensively on the March update.
Today I want to share a clear overview of what’s already finished and what players can expect from this update.
New Co-op Mode
Instead of a complete rework, I added an additional co-op mode alongside the existing one.
All maps can now be played in this new mode with any player count from 2 to 4 players, offering more flexibility and better scalability for co-op sessions.
New Rocket Tower
A brand-new Rocket Tower joins the arsenal, featuring dedicated rocket hit and explosion damage types and a new module positioning system for towers.
Online Fast Forward
2x game speed is now also available online in co-op, allowing teams to progress faster without sacrificing control or stability.
Technical Improvements & Stability
The update introduces a new save system based on JSON, replacing the previous BinaryFormatter approach. Alongside this, many optimizations, improvements and fixes were implemented across networking, UI, audio and gameplay systems.
Quality Improvements & Fixes
Input and camera control fixes
Multiple sound issues resolved
Lighting issues fixed on several maps
Improved tower UI and module handling
New defense base designs for 2, 3 and 4 players
Improved lobby and room UI, including mode switching and player count changes without recreating rooms
Improved room caching and synchronization for better online stability
Missing translations added and text layouts adjusted
Important fix: Monsters can no longer get stuck on the defense base
And many more smaller fixes and improvements.
I’ll continue polishing and improving the update until release.
