Hello.
My previous post, published last year, concluded with the hope of regularly updating you on progress. As you can see from today's publication date, reality has significantly altered those plans. I would like to briefly and accurately explain exactly what happened and the current situation for The Detective.
What's been happening in recent months?
The past few months haven't been kind to the development process. The team I mentioned in 2025 has ceased to exist. Our paths ultimately diverged, and I'm now completely alone on the battlefield. The team's dissolution, combined with everyday life issues and the need to focus on other, very urgent projects, has put work on the game on hold for many more months.
Future Plans
Despite all these difficulties, I want to make one thing clear: I am not abandoning Detective. I intend to continue developing the game as a solo developer.
Switching to solo developer mode means everything will take longer and require a complete reorganisation of my work. I can't commit to any specific dates at this time, nor can I guarantee how things will unfold in the coming months. However, I do know that I'm determined and will try to finish this game.
Communication with the Community
The absence of a team means that all responsibilities, including communication here on Steam, now rest entirely on my shoulders. I don't want to make empty promises, but my goal is to communicate with you more often. Even if it's just brief updates about what piece of code I'm currently working on in Godot, I want you to know that the project is still moving forward.
Thank you to those of you who still have Detective on your wishlists. Your patience during this turmoil means a lot to me.
Read you soon!
