On his last start before July 4 in '85, John Tudor threw a shutout on 7/2 against the Expos, striking out 6. This started a phenomenal July where Tudor had a 1.09 ERA for the month with 4 CGs and 2 shutouts, en route to a 2nd-place Cy Young finish!
On July 4, 2005, Jason Giambi smacked two HRs and 3 RBIs against Baltimore in a 13-8 victory, his best game in '05 to that point! This led to a historic July, where he had a 1.498 OPS, the 2nd-best mark all-time for July behind Babe Ruth (min. 100 PAs)!
