New NPCs
- We added several new NPC types for the evil cyborg enemy faction, the Prometheans: the purifier, the hottest dude you don’t want to meet, and his counterpart, the mechanic. Why a mechanic? Because doctors object to working on evil cyborgs.
- We also added 7 other unique Promethean NPCs.
- Being an engineer on Ship of Heroes is dangerous. That is why we have added 10 new armored engineer NPCs. They work on all 4 branches of Engineering, Life Support, Energy Distribution, Propulsion, and Weapons, defending their fellow engineers and the ship’s equipment. Engineering is one of the two largest departments on the ship.
New Costumes
We continue to increase our costume collection. This month, we added 7 new costume pieces:
- The new engineer armor, shoulders, arm bracers, and gloves are available to players for all three body types, male, female and big guy, and can be recolored. Like all our costume pieces, they can be used independently and combined with pieces of other costume sets.
- We also added 3 female tops. These were created by one of our female devs.
Missions
- We added a new four-mission arc, and we have been reviewing existing arcs with an eye to planning our next free public event.
- We’ve conducted a detailed review of two of our foundational story arcs, in which the entire dev team played the missions through multiple times, checking and polishing.
Powers, Animations, and FX
- Ship of Heroes currently includes 240 powers. We are currently reviewing all our powers’ animations and effects.
- We added unique death animations and FX for Prometheans. When an evil cyborg created by a fusion of banned technology and dark magic is killed, something special should happen, right?
Quality of Life Improvements
- Different types of sounds can now be individually adjusted or toggled off. Want to dial down the footsteps, or the sounds of gunfire and explosions? You got it.
- In the mission journal, we made the list of goals collapsible to minimize the size of that window.
- When Unobtanium Dust, the in-game currency, drops, the dust count display animates and turns yellow to highlight the drop. The animation also plays when opening the vendor window.
