Tonight, as the polar night tightens its grip, we invite you below deck to uncover one of the most crucial systems in Terror: Endless Night - the struggle to keep your crew alive.
Aboard a ship imprisoned by merciless ice, every heartbeat matters. The cold gnaws at flesh, the darkness drains hope, and dwindling food supplies whisper threats of starvation. Your crew’s health is not just a statistic, it is the fragile thread holding the fate of your expedition together.
The forces that shape their survival
• Food Rations🍋🥖🍖
A fuller bowl brings strength and morale… but every portion spent is one you may never replace. Will you feed your men generously, or stretch every crumb to survive the long night?
• Temperature 🧊
The cold outside is absolute — indifferent, unstoppable. But within the ship, warmth is yours to command. The furnace’s glow is hope incarnate, yet every spark demands precious coal. How much comfort can you afford?
• The Burden of Duty ⚒️
Not all work weighs the same. Those who venture onto the ice, breaking frozen seas, scouting the unknown, pay with their health. Those stationed by the furnace or in the galley live a little longer. Rotate them wisely… or watch them wither.
• Madness and Misfortune 🔥
Isolation breeds paranoia. Fear festers. Terrible choices follow. Punishment, accidents, outbursts — each can scar your sailors, leaving them wounded or marked with illnesses like torn wounds, further pulling them toward the abyss.
When illness takes hold
As health wanes, sickness creeps in.
A weakened sailor may fail at heavy tasks… or collapse entirely.
You may send the sick to the infirmary, but beds are few, and medicine is scarce. Every decision becomes a moral weight:
Whom will you save?
Whom will you sacrifice?
What price will you pay to keep the expedition alive?
In our next devlog, we’ll guide you through the infirmary itself and reveal the diseases that stalk your crew in the dark.
But remember this above all:
If a sailor’s health falls to zero, their story ends - claimed by the ice, the cold, or your decisions.
Survival is not guaranteed.
Only earned.
