About the upcoming updates
Hello there, I am Maruyama, the producer of "GUNDAM EVOLUTION".
In this blog, we would like to respond to the opinions and questions we have received from our customers since the launch of the service. We will try our best to answer as many as possible.
Penalties for No-Contests and unexpected malfunctions
We have received many requests to remove the penalty for "casual matches" in order to make casual matches more casual and enjoyable. While the development team is eager to provide a more enjoyable environment for everyone, there is a possibility that eliminating the penalty altogether will encourage more players to leave the game in the middle of a game, which may have a negative impact on the casual matches. (In fact, we have seen an increase in dropouts during the period when the penalty was temporarily reduced.)
However, we do not believe that the current situation is ideal, and in order to provide a more comfortable playing environment, we will further reduce penalties starting from Season 3, as well as modify the specifications to reduce the incidence of glitches, which is one of the root causes of the negative effects, and to make it harder for no-contests to occur.
Forced client termination and unintended network disconnections
First of all, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by errors and other forced termination. We would also like to thank those who have reported the details of the situation when it occurred.
The force close issues are caused by a variety of factors, and while we have made multiple fixes for each platform (PC, PlayStation, and Xbox), we have confirmed that there are still some issues inherent in the game. These issues are our top priority and will continue to be fixed and improved one by one with each maintenance.
The most effective way to make these improvements are, as mentioned at the beginning of this article, your detailed report on how and when the error occurred. We have been able to resolve many issues based on the information we have received, and we would like to ask for your continued support on these matters.
We are also in the process of fixing the function that allows players to reconnect during the grace period if they are disconnected during a game as per your requests.
Matching in some rank bands
We have confirmed that there have been some difficulties in matching in certain areas and time zones, such as North America, Europe, and Asia, as well as in some rank zones, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused to those affected.
We will add new service areas and make adjustments in the future to ensure proper matching. In addition, we will continue to implement various campaigns to further expand the player base, as well as to make ongoing improvements to the matching system itself. We have made various adjustments in the most recent Season 2, and we plan to make further adjustments in the next update.
Improvement of means to earn capitals and in-game content
The in-game currency "Capital," which can be used to unlock units and play some supply pods, is available at levels 18 and 58 (1,000 CP each), and another 2,000 CP is available for completing all the Beginner Challenges. Also, 2,000 CP will be available for unlocking one unit in the upcoming "Winter Campaign", so we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.
In addition, we are planning to hold an in-game event in the next update of the game that will allow players to earn various customization items.
We will continue to hold various events like this in the future, so please stay tuned.
Unlocked units will be practicable
This feature has been requested by many players, and with the most recent update, unlocked units are now available for use in the "Practice" mode. We hope that players will consider unlocking units after trying them out in this mode.
Kill camera function
We have received many requests for a kill camera function so that you can see under what circumstances you are shot down during a game. We cannot give you a definite date for an implementation at this time, but we are aware of your wishes and will consider implementing this feature.
Customizable items
We have been working on the implementation of customizable items, including new items for people who are not familiar with the original story, to see what kind of items they prefer for the worldwide market.
Since the launch of the service, we have received skin designs and item suggestions from both fans and non-fans of the original work, as well as requests for pilot voices and emotes based on the original work. We will consult with the supervisors of licensors about this issue, and we will try to add more designs and categories to meet everyone's wishes as much as possible.
Participation in the Tournaments
We have received a question about the fact that the December SHOWDOWN#2 tournament is only open to people living in the United States.
This is a restriction caused by contractual issues with the companies involved, and we recognize that this is one of the major points that need to be improved in the future. It has always been our strong desire and goal to have more people from a wider area participate, and we will make adjustments to improve the situation as soon as possible.
Promotional plans for Twitch
We have received many questions about our plans for promotion using Twitch Drops.
We are preparing for the implementation of this promotion, which will take place a little later, in February. We hope that many people will be able to enjoy watching and transmitting "GUNDAM EVOLUTION" when the promotion is held.
Information for players outside of the Japan area
Although "GUNDAM EVOLUTION" is a title that is being developed worldwide, we recognize that there are still areas that need improvement in terms of information dissemination, and the time gap between Japanese and English and other languages is one of them.
We are currently working to improve this, and this blog is one step in that direction. We have always collected feedback from overseas players, but we have not been able to keep up with their requests, so we will do our best to provide information on future updates and tournaments widely, regardless of regional boundaries. We would be very grateful if you could continue to provide us with feedback on our development efforts.
Lastly
This was a blog post about your posts and opinions. We'd like to continuously communicate with you in this manner on a regular basis going forward.
Since the launch of the service, we have received many requests for future updates, such as "Please implement a so and so unit for the next update," the implementation of a new game rule map, and new customization items such as the voices of the original characters as mentioned earlier. As a first step, we would like to conduct a survey for those who have been playing "GUNDAM EVOLUTION". We'd like to use this to respond to your questions and opinions, so we'd be very grateful if you would take this opportunity to give us your honest opinions.
