The Grenade Pistol is a sidearm and is always available regardless of which primary weapon you choose. It allows you to carry six grenades, which can be fired in any combination of the six available types. The grenade pistol links to your suit electronics to provide a range indicator on your HUD when firing.
As well as the existing ICE, EMP and MPR warheads the grenade pistol offers three new grenade types:
- FLARE grenade - Blinds enemies and illuminates dark areas with burning light that has the same effect as looking into the Sun. Use it to disorient enemies or provide temporary cover.
- PULSE grenade - Sends a radar pulse that reveals hidden enemies and shows their locations on your HUD. Use the PULSE grenade when approaching control points to reveal enemies hiding in cover.
- DECOY grenade - Confuses enemy radar with false movement signals. The DECOY grenade emits light matching the player's team and steals your HUD marker.
