Today, we bring our second Thalassa Deep Dive, a segment that breaks down one specific area in our game! In this video we'll be delving into the lore and history of the ship - the S.S. Thalassa.

The start of the 20th Century saw great strides being made on air, land and sea. In air travel, the Wright brothers had just flown the first motor-driven airplane. On land, Henry Ford began the first mass-produced automobile. So, what groundbreaking developments were occurring with Sea travel?
In Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss, you’ll find yourself in 1905. Stepping into the shoes of Cam, a deep-sea diver embarking on a new mission on the S.S Thalassa.
At the time of its construction, the S.S Thalassa was at the forefront of sea exploration. This vessel would expand the limits of Maritime History and Archaeology. In its latest expedition, the ship will raise from the depths the remains of St. Catherine, a Spanish Galleon that has slumbered beneath the waves for nearly 300 years.
This undertaking is no small feat and before heading off, a group of investors gathered on the docked ship. During their time onboard the S.S Thalassa, they were told their pledges would not just be funding an expedition, but a history making opportunity. After raising funds, the voyage on the S.S Thalassa began. A crew consisting of twelve main members set off, retracing St. Catherine’s path 300 years prior.
Your journey will begin on the S.S. Thalassa. However, like most journeys, it won’t end in the way it begun.
