Hello everyone!
I plan on putting out two updates this month to improve the program and add some requested features.
The first update will contain more minor features and improvements, such as:
- Autosaving option when editing and creating lists/books
- Tab to auto complete suggested linked lists
- Weighted lists. Instead of each item in a list having a set percent chance, you can assign a weight to an item (4, 10, 20, etc.) with a higher weight signifying a higher chance of appearing and removing the need to edit every single percentage of all items so that it equals 100%.
- Bug fixes and minor editions such as a quit button
The second update will contain some larger and more difficult changes, along with any bug fixes that are needed due to the first update.
- Variables in lists: You will be able to create a variable that can be used multiple times in a list. These variables will be resolved first before it attempts to resolve any other parts of the list, and can be used multiple times in the result. A quick example element might look like this: <Var1=Old Man [Name]> That {Var1} is such a weirdo. Do you know how {Var1} got his name? He used to be called [Name]. With the result ending up as: That Old Man Fred is such a weirdo. Do you know how Old Man Fred got his name? He used to be called Steve.
- Cross list formulas: If you have a list that returns numbers, there is currently no way to perform some sort of work on them. This feature will allow you to add lists results to formulas, for example <1d4 * [My Random Numbers]> will return a proper calculation.
- Referencing lists from other books: The ability to reference lists that are contained in separate books
I am excited to get these updates out to you all, and remember that if you find any bugs or issues, don't be afraid to head to the discussion section of the community hub and create a new thread. Happy rolling!
