Hello, Living.
Ah, so you have found yourself in a spot of bother - no weapons in your inventory, nothing left in your Stash, and little coin to your name. The world after the End is not kind to the unarmed.
Fortunately for you, young Louis may have something to assist. When you find yourself without a weapon, speak with him in the Outer Ramparts and explain your plight. He is not without sympathy, and he will see that you are not sent into the wild empty-handed.
The Nature of the Pricker
The Pricker is a humble tool - a simple, makeshift blade given to those who have lost everything. It is not elegant, nor is it powerful, but it will cut when it needs to.
It exists as a mercy for the desperate and a reminder for the wise: in Hunger, every choice has weight, and every mistake has a cost. The Pricker ensures that even at your lowest, you still have a chance to fight, to flee, and to survive one more day.
A Word to the Living
In the future, keep a few emergency supplies in your Stash, and avoid picking fights you can’t win. The Chateau may offer safety, but the world beyond its walls is not forgiving.
Those who prepare will endure. Those who don’t… will learn.
