EA Play for Game Pass PC delayed to next year

December 15, 2020 EA Play on Xbox Game Pass for PC has been delayed until 2021.

EA Play was set to become part of Xbox Game Pass for PC today after its launch for the console version of the service back in November, but it looks like that's not to be. Microsoft has confirmed that EA Play for the PC version of Game Pass has been delayed until 2021.

"We established this partnership with Electronic Arts because they are as passionate as we are about helping people and communities discover great games," Microsoft says in its announcement, "and we knew we could provide a great experience for members by working together. In order to deliver on that, we need more time to provide the Xbox Game Pass experience."

Microsoft says it will have "more to share early next year". Whenever it does launch, EA Play will be available through all PC flavours of Xbox Game Pass. That includes both the basic $9.99 / £7.99 Xbox Game Pass PC subscription, and the $14.99 / £10.99 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate bundle, which includes both PC and console Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold, and access to xCloud streaming services.
