Brinehunter friends,
We would like to share with you some news about our upcoming free update. One of the most requested new types of content has been playable areas with new enemies and bosses, so we are happy to announce that it’s exactly what is coming this summer in 1.3!
The new playable area will be all about massive, brinepunk machinery. It is very art-heavy, keeping our artists quite busy.
But we also wanted our programmers to improve other parts of the game: one code-heavy feature we are working on is porting the game to Xbox and PlayStation 5 with full cross-platform multiplayer. This means you’ll be able to group up with PC & console players alike, which will lead to a lot more open lobbies available to jump straight into the action.
Here is a rundown of all the new content coming to Abyssus in patch 1.3:
A new playable area!
Full of new enemies, of course. Hulking, reanimated humanoid brine-monsters.
With a new elite encounter…
…And a new boss encounter!
Also, a new God. The Brine God, with 15 new blessings, joins the fray!
And we’re adding 5 new blessings for each existing God.
We also revamped the skill tree, with new skills to pick.
On top of that, a streamlined matchmaking system & quickplay option
Xbox and PlayStation versions with full cross-platform multiplayer
And last, but certainly not least, new sea shanties!
This will be our biggest update yet! No precise date for the patch has been set so far, because there’s a lot of QA involved in making the new playable area run as smoothly as possible, but we will let you know as soon as we can.
And as always, patch 1.3 will be completely free. It will also contain a lot of goo, that is, brine gone bad. Therefore, we’ll accompany the content patch with a new cosmetic DLC called Brinerot Pack for those who want to support our work and look snazzy even while knee-deep in goo.
We hope you’ll enjoy the goo as much as you’ll enjoy shooting the horrendous brine-monsters wallowing in it!
