What was the last of the game's core systems we just finished? The SALVAGE system.
The salvage system gives the player the opportunity to salvage doodads (powerups) they gather during gameplay, once they've gathered enough of salvage (currency) by completing waves.
- Without salvaging, the doodads are temporary and will be destroyed once your current run ends.
- At the end of the game, you can choose to salvage some doodads (if you can afford it). Those are then stored permanently to your account (and backed up via Steam Cloud).
- There's a limit to how many salvaged doodads can be active at each time (based on rarity).
It's not easy to salvage doodads - it takes quite some time to gather enough salvage, especially for rarer pieces. But the system will allow you to slowly develop a meta strategy, take a little control of the crazy RNG that drives the game, and give some min-maxing opportunities to more hardcore players.

The last system is done, but there's still lots of development to go, especially around content and balancing. For those, getting some hands on early will really improve the direction we take it.
So a limited time open beta seems like a great idea! After the one week period, we'll be wracking our brains over the data and feedback, and working it all into the game.
The beta will be made available in the form of a Steam demo app.
Release Date Pushed Back from Late September to Late October
We've learned Steam Next Fest is at the beginning of October! So we decided to push back the release date from late-Sep to late-Oct, as that'll let us use it as another opportunity to gather feedback and make the game the best it can be. Alas, there'll be more announcements about that later 😊
