Source: Steam Community (opens in a new tab)

After a wonderful first PTE session in December, we’re back with even more updates, bugfixes, and improvements for you all to try out! Huge thank you to everyone that helped us improve Amber Isle by testing and submitting bug reports & feedback. We couldn’t have done it without you!

But! There’s still more improvements to be made- that’s where you come in! 🦖🫵

When: February 5th - 18th (12pm GMT)

Playtest Focus Points

This playtest will focus on general bug fixing and game improvements. It can be split into 2 main areas:

Testing our new fixes: With the help of everyone’s previous bug reports, we’ve already identified and fixed a number of prevalent issues impacting players. We’d like some help stress-testing these fixes, which include improvements to autosaving, fixes for missing recipes, collision issues, and quest softlocks. The full changelog can be found on our Discord.
Reporting all other bugs and issues: For the next two weeks, we’re focusing all our efforts to fixing more bugs, improving gameplay, and making this new patch as impactful as possible. The more people we have testing every corner of the game, the more successful this will be!

The new character creator features will also be returning in this patch, so further testing and feedback on those would be very welcome!

How do I join the playtest?

Once the patch is live, the Beta branch can be accessed in Steam. You can access the Beta by following these steps:

Right Click Amber Isle in your library
Select Properties
In the new pop-up window, select ‘Betas’
Select ‘public_test_experimental’ from the dropdown menu.
(Note: Branch will not be publicly accessible until the launch on Feb 5th at 12pm GMT)

We’ll post a detailed changelog in our Discord once the playtest goes live, so its clear what to focus on when testing.

❗Warning! Always back-up your save files ❗

If you’re opting into this playtest and care about your previous saves, please be sure to back-up your save files first! Especially if you plan on loading an existing save rather than starting a new playthrough. If your saves become corrupt and you have no save file back-ups, they may be gone for good! 🦕💔
