🎄HOLIDAY SEASON🎄
Just because Earth has endured numerous cataclysms and much of humanity was wiped out by the Sanglines doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate Christmas and other festivities!
Refuel Towers and Warp Stations have been decorated for the occasion, featuring Christmas trees and all sorts of gifts.
By the way, don’t forget to check the gifts—you never know what delightful surprises might be inside!
🚀 ASSISTANCE 🚨
A new feature has been introduced to make your journey easier: Assistance. Now, you can call for transport anytime, anywhere. This space taxi will quickly pick you up and take you to the nearest Refuel Tower of your choice. Whether it’s after your ship has been destroyed or to avoid a long walk, Assistance ensures your adventure continues uninterrupted. Convenient and reliable, this service is your best ally in tough situations!
⚙️ SHADOW IMPROVEMENTS ⚙️
Significant work has been done to enhance shadow rendering, improving visual quality without impacting performance, even on the lowest settings. Shadows are now permanently enabled, including in "low" mode, providing a more immersive experience in the world of QANGA. Using a new shadow baking technique, each light source generates a pre-calculated specific texture that projects detailed shadows, even over long distances. This optimization also eliminates the white haze that was previously visible on objects illuminated by distant lights.
🚀 SPACESHIP UPDATES 🚀
The team has made significant improvements to spaceships to deliver a smoother and more immersive experience. Speed control can now be adjusted directly via the mouse wheel and is always displayed on-screen, with a quick toggle option using the B key. This system automatically deactivates during braking while allowing manual acceleration at any time for greater flexibility. Additionally, the boost feature has been enhanced to deliver more power and now operates in a "hold to boost" mode, making maneuvers more dynamic. Finally, spaceship piloting has been refined, with adjustable atmospheric control parameters available in the admin settings under Spacecraft | MinAtmosphereAlpha.
