Buddy, if you are reading this, means Barkeep kept the word and delivered my letter. That's been a while time no see. Still got the flash of our last battle when we, all together with even monolith guys, had a stand against those scumbags in Red Forest. You said "we'll meet soon", and I sincerely believe that will be so. We'll sit near some campfire and talk about all that happened.
Happened a lot. To me, at least. I thought that last year was tough, with all that virus threat… And now I just want to lay down somewhere warm, under dim flashlight and not hear those damn sirens that howl across the Zone, day by day.
But that's alright, it will pass. There were so many things. I even had to leave the Perimeter to secure my family away. That's we who get used to canned food, no heat-no light, but I want something else for them. Now in the new place, trying to enjoy their lives and believe in the best. That's quite a self-aid indeed! I can finally take a breath now when they are safe.
Remember that red-haired lad with bouffant mustaches? The one from my group, whose you were drunk-fighting with guitars near Yanov. He's gone. 2 days after we separated during the Zone defense. Have been clenching his Freedom badge till the end.
I hope so much that you are safe and sound. That your loved ones, friends, all of them are alive, and your brother is alright. They say that he joined up the military. And although we got some rumbles with them at the Zone, now we know he is doing important things. So I wish him luck and success. And come back alive. Without him, his bottle brothers and sister, we wouldn't be interested in the mysteries and fate of the Zone and C-Consciousness.
Well, in recent times, it's not the adventures we have been asking for. That's why there is less data about the Zone, forays and habar. But I'm sure next year will be plenty of positives — out of the victory, reuniting with family and friends, out of the simple silence.
Cutting the stuff, I will be really glad to meet you. So much awaits us! Wish you to take a rest and be solid. Be sure of yourself and all of us!
Happy holidays, friend!
