Hi everyone,
It's been nearly a month since Mining Mechs released (time flies!) so I figured it's time to give you all a little update on what has happened since launch and most importantly; what's next!
Progress so far
In the weeks after launch I've mainly focused on fixing bugs and polishing the game. I'm glad to say there wasn't an overwhelming amount of bugs on launch but there's definitely been a fair amount of bugs and crashes that I've fixed - thank you for your bug reports and of course for your patience and understanding. Also thanks to your feedback and suggestions I've managed to add a couple of important quality of life updates and balancing changes such as increased pump revenue, reduced mech upgrade costs and increased item capacity. I've also introduced the community's most requested feature; the Mechipedia menu - which provides an overview of all resources you've found, where you can find them, how much they are worth and how many you've mined.

What's next
Now the big question is of course; what's next? The feedback I got most from the community is that players would love to play more when reaching the end of the game, but they simply ran out of map to dig. For this reason I've decided that my main focus will be to extend the gameplay time of the game and I'll be doing this in 2 ways.
1. New Game +
Many players have requested a "New Game +" or "Prestige" system where they can transfer some progress over to a new map and keep playing. I'm glad to announce that I will be adding a "New Game +" option to the game. This will work as follows:
Once you've completed the game, you'll be able to visit the airship where you can choose to start a new game. By doing this you will lose all progress, including your mechs, money, pump upgrades, pipe system and items. The map will regenerate and you'll basically start from scratch. However - by doing this you will gain a token. This token will increase the pump revenue and also adds an additional upgrade point to spend on each mech. You can stack as many tokens as you want to make each playthrough even faster than the previous one!
2. New Content
This is probably the most requested thing by the community; new content. I'm glad to announce that I'm working on the first DLC featuring:
- A new map
- A new story line
- 5 New Mechs
- New resources
As I mentioned my focus is on adding content to the game - not on implementing new features. This means the DLC will not feature any significant gameplay changes, but rather offers additional content to play.
I've thought long and hard about selling a DLC and I'm still not entirely sure about it, but right now I plan to sell the DLC for $0.99USD (regional pricing will apply). The reason I'm planning a paid DLC is because the base game is only $2.99 and I had not planned to actively expand the game with new content. Selling the DLC rather than offering it as free content will allow me to spend more time and resources on the content and even more importantly - I'd be able to support the game for a much longer time with even more content in the future.
Feedback
As always I value your feedback very much. At the end of the day I'm not making the game for myself - I'm making it for you all to play, so if you have any feedback or thoughts please let me know in the comments here, on the community hub or on Discord!
Thank you all for the support so far and I'm excited for what's to come!
