October Developer Update
It's every Witch's favourite season! We're now over two months into Early Access and we have a brief developer update on what we're doing and where we're headed. The update pace is a little less breakneck than the past days of early access lately, but lots of work is continuing behind the scenes and the team has been expanding!
Lately, we've been making adjustments to the early experience based on your feedback, with new early game quests and other features to help players become familiar with the Minor Transmutation Spell once they've unlocked it and learn what kind of materials it can be used to create. Most items now have their descriptions properly implemented, which will ease the learning curve - some spell descriptions still to come in the near future.
We've also introduced some UI improvements that should make it clear how much progress has been made on harvesting resource nodes. As of last week's update, progress bars now appear when mining or chopping trees to nearby players so you can see your progress and make it easier to join in and work together with fellow Witches.
In the very near future, we are continuing an ongoing overhaul of the menu systems, standardizing their layouts and improving visuals and polish. We'll also be refining the new features above, so we'd love to hear your impressions on them!
Looking ahead, we have plans to make upgrades more available and visible, so that players have additional direction via items, quests, and dialogue to help them actually learn about and reach new and existing upgrades. These upgrades will include expansion of things like storage, gardening plots, and homestead features - say goodbye to the struggle of trying to keep all your stuff organized with just one chest to work with!
That's all for now - but remember to join the official Discord where we'll be posting some exclusive sneak peeks of some things we've been working on.
