The next monthly update for Castle Constructor is here, Alpha 4.2 - Build the Castle has been released. The main features are the 2 new enemies (archers and siege towers) and the new block (Alchemist). In addition this update comes with a few performance improvements and some visual improvements. Check out the list of changes below for more details.
Changes:
- New Archer enemy. Archers will shoot at your blocks as they pass by, dealing damage.
- New Siege Tower enemy. Siege Towers protect and carry enemies to your walls as well as help them climb over a bit faster.
- New Alchemist block. Allows directly adjacent blocks to shoot fire arrows which deal more damage to shields, rams, and siege towers.
- Multiple performance improvements.
- Improved pathfinding. Enemies split more when reaching your walls.
- Improved path visuals. Paths now conform to the ground properly and are more accurate.
- Ballista has been adjusted to allow for 6 possible rotations instead of 3. This gives more control over its range.
- Added a visual adjacency for archers and battlements.
- Enemies now stand after being knocked down.
- Increased the size of weapons and shields to make them more visible.
- Game version is now displayed on the main menu.
- Improved tutorial slightly.
- Made the stone walls have flat sides again so they link better visually.
- New impact effects for ballista bolts and for arrows when they hit a shield or siege equipment.
- Ballista has been adjusted to shoot a bit slower.
- Fixed: Crane card can no longer pick up blocks from the keep.
- Fixed: Shields sometimes not being cleared after a level.
- General smaller fixes, adjustments, and improvements.
