The desert is certainly not empty, especially for a witch! If you search well, you will find previously unavailable herbs, which will be useful in new recipes for food or potions.
And you can prove it by taking pictures!
This update will introduce a new, fun mechanic - photography. If you improve your friendship with Rebecca, you will be able to obtain your very own camera and take pictures of anything worth remembering!
