Friends, first off let me apologize for the lateness of this. Work and life have just been super busy, in a good way really, and I've just not had the time to put this together, so this one is gonna be a bit truncated to save me time, but I'll be linking full version release notes so you can see for yourself how much has improved.
Here's the rundown:
In early May, 1,7 was released and it brought with it a whole bevy of new features. This includes:
- A full career statistics screen that tallies everything from your first mission onward.
- New quick navigation options, such as the nearest starbase, or a specific star system or planet from their respective information tables.
- New database options for looking at landing parties and bases.
- New status screens for landing parties and Operation Big Brother.
- New features to Fleet Command, such as see every ship's distance from you at a glance, or all their objectives.
- New escort formations and a formation editor.
- Orbital Fortresses, which are basically starbases orbiting UGA colonies.
- Qships, warships disguised as freighters
1.7 received several patches, the notes to which you can read here:

In late May, 1.8 was released to select playtesters and brings with it even more new features, such as:
- System search, which will now send your fleet in a sweep around a system. Handy for keeping your fleet together and looking for starbases or UGA ships.
- Fleet command has received several new commands, such as multi-mode and local mode. Multi-mode allows you to select multiple ships and give them the same order easily. There are also keyboard shortcuts to select all warships, or all ships, or all battlecruisers, and so on.
- Fleet Command local mode only highlights ships in your system for selection, making it easy to only focus on the ships in your immediate vicinity. You can also see where everyone's position is using the new position command.
- As a Subadmiral or Admiral, you can order a moratorium on invasions from Fleet HQ, so that only you can order invasions. This is VERY handy in missions where you goals are planetary invasions.
- A new helm patrol mode, which will do an orbit around a specific object or point in space. Perfect for protecting Starforts.
- Slaves can now be converted to Krells, the game's currency, upon reaching the rank of Prefect.
- Improvements to planetary invasions.

So as you can see, a LOT has happened and we're still trucking along toward what will hopefully be an August release. Thanks so much for your patience and for wishlisting the game, it is much appreciated. Until next time!
