🤝 About Indie Bundles
We strongly believe that the indie scene thrives when studios support one another. Large studios usually have large marketing budgets to ensure their games are seen. Smaller indie games, on the other hand, often rely on something very different: giving each other visibility.
That’s why collaboration matters to us. We truly appreciate the work of other indie developers - especially in the cozy and puzzle space - and we want to highlight games we admire. Bundles like this are one small way of supporting each other and helping indie games find the audience they deserve.
🧩 How Complete-the-Set Bundles Work (and Why You Don't Pay Twice)
Under our last bundle announcements, we noticed a few agitated comments. We take that feedback seriously and would like to understand you better: Would you prefer not to be informed about bundles in the future - or is this something you still want to hear about?
Just to be very clear:
This is a “Complete-the-Set” bundle (and the bundles we posted about in December, are Complete-the-Set bundles, too)
No one is buying a game twice
You only pay for the games you do not already own. Games you already have, are not charged again. Example: Let's say, you already own Dorfromantik. Then you simply get 10% off on the second game in the bundle (in this case: Assemble with Care or Tiny Bookshop, depending on the bundle). You're not charged for Dorfromantik since you already own it. You pay nothing for Dorfromantik and 10% less for our partner game.
We think this is a nice way to introduce you to other cozy and puzzle games by indie developers. Posting about it here in the Community Hub brings us (= Toukana) no benefit at all - really, none. It’s purely a community service, because we thought it might be cool for you to know when Dorfromantik players can get a special discount on other games.
✍️ Reacting to Your Comments
We will continue to support other studios in the future, because we believe that a healthy industry is built on thinking beyond just our own studio. Helping each other out and acting with care toward one another is part of what we consider good collaboration within the games industry.
At the same time, we’ll keep trying to make discounts possible for you whenever we can. We know that money doesn’t come easily for everyone right now, and as game creators, we think it’s important not to maximize margins, but to make games accessible to as many people as possible.
That said, we also don’t want to overwhelm you with information. If bundle announcements in the Community Hub is something you find annoying or disruptive, please tell us.
👉 Let us know whether you’d like to keep hearing about bundles like this in the future (or not). Your feedback helps us decide how to handle this going forward.
