The Collector’s Edition comes with the remastered version of Sam & Max Save the World on a DVD-ROM, along with the 2006/2007 original episodes, and the video content from Telltale’s original release. This is a hybrid data and video DVD, which means you can relive the glory days of DVD special features by popping it into any DVD or Blu-Ray player and watching hours of commentary tracks on your TV from the comfort of your couch (or you can use your computer if you prefer to watch special features more discreetly).
But that’s not all! You’ll also get a mini print of Steve Purcell’s Highway Surfin’ painting (created for the game’s first magazine cover story in 2006), postcards of each of the episode 1–6 comic book covers from the game menu, and our personal favorite: a recreation of the Sam & Max Season One Case File, which Telltale sold in very limited quantities in 2007. All of this will be packaged in a “big box” the same size as the old LucasArts boxes, so it’ll look right at home next to Sam & Max Hit the Road or any other classic adventure games you happen to have on display.
