Well you’ve come to the right place! We’ve broken down some of the core gameplay mechanics into easy-to-digest posts to help you out. Everything from favors and friends to cops and combat - we’ve got you covered.
#1 - The Foundations of an Empire
Learn all about the kinds of basic alcohol (Homemade beer, Hard Cider, Brick Wine, and Moonshine) that you can produce in the early parts of the game. We’ll tell you how to produce each recipe, acquire necessary skills and locate ingredients!
#2 - Business Relationships
Social currency is a big deal and effectively managing relationships with people and businesses will be a key part of spreading your influence across the city. Learn about the advantages of a positive relationship and the disadvantages of a negative one.
#3 - Dealing with troublemakers
You’ll encounter NPC troublemakers frequently during your campaign. Separate from rival gangs, these small-time operators can be found all over the city. Learn about how these troublemakers can create both problems and opportunities for your crew.
#4 - Character traits and personalities
Every person you encounter in the city will possess between 1-3 character traits. These will influence their behavior, social relationships, and individual abilities. Take a look at these traits and personalities that can influence your gameplay.
#5 - Weapons and combat
As you expand your criminal empire, you’ll run up against aggressive troublemakers and competing rival outfits. While you can take a diplomatic approach to these encounters, you may occasionally have to resort to violence. Find out how to obtain weapons and survive encounters.
#6 - Managing Businesses
Businesses will be at the heart of your economy. Each business has a legal side (a cover), and room in the back to install an operation of your choice. Learn how to acquire business and set up the different types of backroom operations available to you.
#7 - Automating deliveries
Learn how to use the automated deliveries system to streamline your resource production and distribution. This includes information on customizing deliveries, vehicle fleet management and vehicle maintenance.
#8 - Fronts and territory
Explore the role of fronts and the importance of territory control. Learn how to set up a front and keep it funded through extortion and front subversion. Placing fronts on strategic corners enables you to hire a larger crew and get an additional revenue stream.
#9 - City maps overview
Each city map in City of Gangsters has its own unique geography, zoning, and concentration of nationalities. Some maps even have unique resources to exploit, skills to learn and gameplay mechanics to discover. Discover each map you can explore during your campaigns.
#10 - Establishing your legacy
Over the course of your campaign, you’ll be working towards completing a variety of goals across four categories. Take a look at these end game goals and how they will contribute to your legacy once Prohibition ends in 1933.
