This week on Radio we bring you some upbeat trance from composer and Audiosurf fan Justice Z. His album "This is my jurisdiction" comes out May 1 on Amazon.
Justice Z was first inspired to write electronic dance music when he played the trippy music-related game "Synaesthete" (winner of the best student game award at the Independent Games Festival).
I love the floaty dreaminess of this music--"Retribution" and "Cosmic Dust" both take a single phrase and build on it, almost Bolero-like, throughout the song. "This is my jurisdiction" has more variations and themes weaving into it, and the most stops and starts for an Audiosurf ride. "Polaris" is my favorite tune of the week--it has a real sense of expansive joy to it.
