10 Game Play Tips You Must Know For Darkest Hour 6.0

  1. Spawning vehicles is easy and is important to the success of your team! To spawn a vehicle, you select the vehicle tab under where the roles are listed in the deploy menu. Some levels now require you to spawn a vehicle to be able to spawn infantry into the battle. Some instances of this are, Dog Green requires Higgins Boats to be spawned; Bridgehead requires deploy vehicles to be spawned.
  2. Deploy vehicles are very important to the outcome of the battle; they must be taken care of and used well. Enemy deploy vehicles must be blocked or destroyed so objectives can more easily be taken!
  3. Take some time to look at the new deploy menu and figure out how it works. While playing look closely, there may be a better spawn than the one you know of.
  4. Many maps have new wire obstacles that you cannot overcome and may require wire cutters. Engineers are now equipped with wire cutters to cut the obstacles for you and vehicles can also crush them.
  5. You can now run for longer, but changing stances can use up significant stamina. "Diving for cover can take some wind outta ya!" In addition, it can be harder to aim when winded!
  6. Room clearing is not only for the run and guns, hip firing effectiveness is reduced and iron-sight movement made better. Sometimes try taking it a bit slower and give the defender a very small target, instead of rushing in like a mad man.
  7. Don't want to walk all that way? Well find a friendly vehicle and jump on, why walk when you can ride!
  8. Operators of guns, vehicles, mortars are now much easier to kill! Get above a vehicle and easily shoot the driver or commander out! Easily shoot off mortar operators and AT guns. Can't get an angle? Try a grenade!
  9. Grid coordinates, all maps now use a standardized grid coordinate overlay. Want to give a more specific location than just "C3"? Give the extra coordinate number, for example: C3-8 ("8" being the correlated grid square inside "C3"). The extra coordinate numbers have the same layout as the numbers on your numpad or can be seen at the top left of the map.
  10. You now have more and easier control over your mouse and sensitivity settings! You can change the sensitivity reduction factor for when iron-sighted and for when looking through scopes. You can also easily change your mouse polling rate. I recommend taking some time to make sure your mouse setup is as desired! Do this in the input tab for the settings page. We (Theel) will later make a guide explaining what all this stuff is and how to get your setup just right.
