First Announcement!
Gameplay Trailer
A new trailer will be here soon, showcasing some of the maps and more importantly, some quick footage of an early build's gameplay. So stay tuned for that, no set release date on the gameplay trailer because we want to make sure it showcases the game well.
Game Modes
Lots of game modes will be coming to End of War. We'll have the FPS staples, along with some new modes specifically tuned to the setting of 1945:
Staples
Of course, End of War 1945 will have the core modes most FPS games feature. These include Free For All Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Conquest, and Capture the Flag. If you've played an FPS before, you know what these modes are. This time you'll play them on fine tuned maps, where quick tactical thinking and the precision of your aim will bring you victory!
Target
Target is an exciting mode based off attempts to eliminate local officers and resistance leaders by means of assassination. An enemy player is randomly targeted, and a will have an icon over them indicating which of them must be killed to score a point. However, you must remember to defend your own target! The targeted player is just as capable and vulnerable as any other. Eliminate enough enemy targets and you'll win the match.
Elimination
Elimination will make you treat every life preciously. This mode is basically Team Deathmatch, with a twist. You won't be able to respawn, so live your life to the fullest and make every shot count!
Uprising
Uprisings took place with greatest ferocity as Axis rule collapsed in occupied cities. Civilians took to the streets and attacked the remaining occupying forces. With each fallen soldier, more were inspired to join the mob. These historical events inspired the uprising mode, where 1/4 of players in a lobby will start the match as rebels. Armed with knives, they will attack the initially larger Axis force. When an Axis soldier dies, they will respawn as a rebelling civilian. A rebel that kills an enemy soldier will be rewarded with a pistol until their death, along with the knife they initially spawned with. The Axis team can only win by surviving until the clock runs out, as rebels have unlimited respawns. The rebel team can win by taking out every Axis soldier before the clock runs out.
Fortress
Fortress provides non linear objective based gameplay. Teams will switch between attacking and defending key points throughout the map. Once an objective is seized by the attacking team, it can't be reclaimed like in standard Conquest. Hold as many objectives as possible while you defend, and when the round ends your team will be on the offensive. With the tables turned, take more objectives than you lost last round to win the match.
Sabotage
Sabotage was a tactic employed by every side in the war, destroying ammo stockpiles and other important caches could weaken your enemy before an anticipated engagement. Each team has a stockpile near their spawn, and you'll have to blow up your enemy's while defending your own.
Assault
Assault is a mode that changes depending on what map you're playing it on. Each map has its own unique tasks for an attacking team to perform. The defenders must stop them from completing their objectives through outlasting time limits, and each objective taken will give the attacking team points. Once the attack has been fully completed or the time limit has run out, the teams will switch roles and now the other team must get farther than the last did. The map will reset with each team switch, so the operation will start from the beginning again. This mode is perfect for players that enjoy some linearity to their gameplay, and a less chaotic experience. Assault will be further elaborated on in a future announcement.
Let us know what you think of these modes, and remember to follow End of War 1945 so you never miss an announcement!
