Future Content Teaser

Hello troops,

Thank you!

It's been just over a week and I'm amazed at the love and kind words Brass Brigade has received. Let me take this moment to express my thanks to all of you who have supported Brass Brigade. I'm glad you're enjoying it and I'm sure you're excited to hear about what is currently in the works.

New Map - Operation Battleaxe

First, and perhaps most excitingly, is a taste of an upcoming map. Brass Brigade aims to explore many of WWII's famous battles. At the time of writing this, Brass Brigade only has one battle from the North African Campaign. That's about to change with the introduction of Operation Battleaxe - a map that features the famous Halfaya Pass as its centerpiece. British and German troops find themselves locked in a fierce battle for this treacherous pass and its surrounding firebases.

The pass features one primary bridge, making it difficult for tanks to pass in either direction without control of the opposing capture points. It's a tough choke-point that can be flanked from either side by infantry and captured from above or below.

General Gameplay Updates

In other news, some user requested features have had an initial implementation added into the game, some of which include...

  • Weapon accuracy modifier (see note below)
  • Per-game leaderboard that tracks each soldier's kills/deaths and reports your performance at the game's conclusion.
  • Players can now throw back enemy grenades/unstuck dynamite using the action key. Be careful not to get blown up by a short fuse though!
  • Kill-feed of all players is now shown in the top right of the screen (can be disabled/enabled in the settings menu)
  • Players can set their soldier's name for the leaderboard/kill-feed in the settings menu.

The weapon accuracy modifier's default value makes weapons more accurate than they currently are; this is in response to many players saying that weapons feel too "floaty". If, however, you prefer a wider weapon accuracy spread, you can turn the weapon accuracy modifier back down to your liking. Currently, this is on a per game basis - let me know if this is a setting you'd prefer to persist between games. Feedback appreciated!

Wrapping up

There is no release date planned for this update yet, but I suspect it should be ready around Christmas time. Of course, things are subject to change, but these are features I'm confident will be ready relatively soon.

There are other small quality of life adjustments and more user-requested features currently in the works too, but they are not developed enough to be disclosed yet. Thank you for all your valuable feedback!

Thanks again for being so supportive, and I look forward to bringing you your first content drop as soon as I can!

Until next time,
-Henry Kucab
