This year Legend of Crystal Valley celebrates it's 15th birthday!
So for this ocasion, we decided to give the game a well deserved overhaul!
And best of all, this is just the first of a series of improvements we have lined up for Legend of Crystal Valley in the coming months, so stay tuned.
What's new:
1) This version adds several new languages
- Italian (Texts + Voiceovers!)
- Polish
- Russian
- Croatian
(These are now all the languages Legend of Crystal Valley has been translated in so far)
2) The game now has 2 sets of voiceovers: German and Italian, and now you can freely choose one of them in all languages supported in the game. Italian sounds particularily awesome in our opinion!
3) The German version is no longer a separate build on Steam, all languages are now integrated in one build. English is the default and you can choose another language by manually clicking the language button in the lower left corner of the main menu. Automatic language detection from Steam is scheduled for the next update.
4) Croatian language is now available! We're from Croatia and in 2009 we partnered with a local newspaper company to distribute Legend of Crystal Valley in stores as a retail CD. It was translated to Croatian and was quite an achievement for us back then. This language is now restored and integrated in the game for all you nostalgic Croats!
5) The tutorial is back. Though the game originally had a tutorial, it caused problems for the Steam version so we disabled it. It's now fixed and translated to all supported languages. English and Russian tutorials have voiceovers as well.
6) Anti-aliasing now works again. It's disabled by default though.
7) Last but not least - the game now has support for steam cloud save syncing!
However, to get this to work, we had to change the location where the game saves data, so if you have been playing the game before the update, the new version won't load your previous progress. Go to the discussion forums, we posted a guide how to transfer your saved files to the new version.
8) And just to be on the safe side, the old build is available as a beta branch on steam, so if for some reason the new build is giving you trouble, you can use the old one while we investigate. If you run into trouble, please write in the discussion forum so we may fix it.
That's it from us, we hope you like the changes, give it a go and let us know what you think.
And a sneak preview for the next update which is coming in a week or two - due to popular demand, we are adding Steam Achievements in the game!
