To the south of the lush Sarandos lies a region known to the inhabitants of the continent as Lava Rift, one of the most dangerous and inhospitable places in all of Terrasia. Here the enemy can strike at any moment, and the spirit of rivalry pervades the scorching hot air… One will need to call upon all of their experience, skills, and bravery to survive in these lands.
Lava Rift occupies the south-western part of the continent and largely serves as the battleground for the endless struggle for resources and influence between Crimson Legion and Stigmata Order. Each of the warring faction has its own distinct ideology, and you’ll have a chance to learn more about them as you progress through the game’s storyline.
While in the area you’ll notice an icon appear in the upper right corner of your character’s avatar. Use it to turn free fighting mode on and off.
When enabled, the option allows you to freely attack or be attacked by other players you meet in Lava Reef, except in specifically designated safe areas.
Players who have fallen while attacking others can only respawn in Lava Rift Skeleton Village. By completing quests in Skeleton Village you can lower your character’s karma. Luckily Skeleton Village is a safe area, so no bounty hunter will be able to come and collect the reward on your head while you’re doing this!
While in Lava Rift, always keep an eye on which of the three types of area you’re currently playing in: a safe zone, common zone, or “no rules” zone. Players can’t attack each other in safe zones, but in other types of area PvP is a fair game and you might find yourself on the defensive!
