Zombie King releases in 14 days! I am counting down to the release by telling you a story every Monday.
For today I want to tell you about the real-life history behind the game and what it hast to do with this castle.
That is Neuschwanstein Castle located in Southern Germany. It was built buy a really greedy king who lost a war to Prussia so he built himself a home to hide away in the country side so nobody would bother him (I guess that is what you do when you lose to Prussia.) But then the King died under mysterious circumstances and his castle was never 100% finished.
In Return of the Zombie king you play as that king after you are killed and after you make a deal with the devil bot buy back your life. It is an interesting retelling of the story to say the least.
But the central driver of this whole story is that castle.
About 4 years ago my wife and I visited it. I immediately recognized it but I couldn't remember where. Then I realized that it is the stand in castle for pretty much every video game I loved as a kid.
It is like when game designers want to put in a castle they just draw this one.
