Shooting Blaster Big Bang Boom - Update 1.1

We have released Update 1.1 which introduces new features and new options that can help you get a richer experience when playing Shooting Blaster Big Bang Boom. Details are outlined below.

Update 1.1 - Mechanics

  1. Difficulty
    • Added 4 Swarm modes (Thin/Normal/Dense/Hive)
    • Thin/Normal Swarm modes
      • The player will never run out of weapons to fire
      • If any acquired weapons run out of ammo, the player automatically falls back on the Standard Gun
      • The player does not need to manually switch weapons if they run out of ammo - the game will automatically switch to the next available weapon (chooses from left to right)
    • Any other mode
      • The player still has to manually switch weapons if they run out of ammo
      • The player does not get unlimited ammo as in Thin/Normal Swarm modes - a weapon power-up will be made available within 0.5s if no weapon power ups are available on screen (remember to check the Sun if you have it enabled - some power ups may be hard to see as they may blend in with the Sun)
    • Ships still unlock every 20 levels, however, to unlock a ship, you must play at least Normal mode - no ship unlocks during Thin modes
    • You can now toggle picking up weapon powerups by pressing the "T" key on the keyboard, or hitting the Left Button on the controller - you can still pickup ammo of the currently equipped weapon
    • Once damage is taken to the hull, a shield protects the ship for the next 3 seconds against any form of damage
  2. Improvements
    • More controller types are supported
    • Leaderboard data-fetch has been improved
      • If your entry doesn't currently show up in the leaderboards, relogging into the game should re-enlist your entry
    • Weapons without ammo will not be cycled through
    • Options tooltips have been improved
    • On a controller, you can alternatively use the Right Trigger to shoot
  3. Visuals
    • Added travel field that is available for toggle in the Options menu
  4. Bug Fixes
    • Ship shields is now displaying properly
    • Beam weapons (laser / electro shock) are no longer rendered behind the sun
    • Fixed an issue where beam weapons would stop firing on their own
    • Other minor fixes
