We are aware of some issues with the Multiplayer of Jagged Alliance 3. Steam invites and join by code has been hotfixed on the server-side already. There might still be occasional errors, but retrying will solve the issue. Please make sure to relaunch the game to grab it.
Further improvements about how game list functionality is handled will be coming via a client-side update next week.
