Hello again, Moonshiners! In today's #MoonshineMemoirs let's have a look at the story of none other than you - the main character in Moonshine Inc.
It’s not easy to make a name for yourself in the big city. With skyscrapers looming over, people always rushing everywhere, and the ‘hollow sound of silent people walking down the stairway to the subway in the shadows down below’. Kris Kristofferson knew what he was singing about more than too well.
So how can a simple country boy make a career there?
He cannot.
But what about a not-so-simple, smart country boy?
Well, he too will find it challenging.
And that’s exactly what happened to our main character. He thought he was destined for something more than the simple country life, he tried to escape it, to make a name for himself. And he failed. As simple as that. Not made for the merciless city life he was. And now he has to return to his homeland, with more debts than good memories - and barely any hope for the future.
But you don’t need hope when you have a family that will stand by your side no matter what. Which wasn’t too obvious to the main hero at first, sure. But one look at his little sister, one shriek - of happiness - from her powerful lungs, and he knew that he was more than welcome back home. And when Elly-Jane suggested she’ll help him learn how to make moonshine, set up a business, and tell gruncle Donald to share his vast knowledge on spirit-making (and to stop grumbling), it became more than apparent that the bad fortune might be turning for the better. As long as the hero was ready to work his ass off to reach his goals.
And that’s the basics of the story and the background of the main character. Country boy turned city boy turned country boy again, and proud of it, and glad. Now all he needs to do is build his moonshining empire, outsmart the police, deal with pesky ATF agents, not fall into traps set up by corrupt governors, and… have a little fun while doing all that. ‘cause that’s what being a moonshiner is all about.
