We're bringing you a sneak peek at the upcoming update! Scheduled for June 26, this update brings a brand-new event, new content, Steam achievements, QoL improvements, and bug fixes — making your Dinkum life more enjoyable than ever.
After the preview of our official launch patch notes, we received many questions from you. From now on, we’ll continue to share patch notes 2–3 days before updates go live, so you can focus on gameplay on the day of!

Update Schedule

No downtime required.
If you're already in-game, you can keep playing, but we recommend restarting after installing the update to access the new content.
New Features
Night Market Event

On the 19th of every season, a colorful tent will appear at the visitor's site. But it only opens its flaps after midnight, once your tiring day is over and the spooky late night sets in. Inside, you'll meet the Night Merchant, who claims to have come from the 'Depths'. (Once you've encountered them for the first time, their visit date will be marked on the calendar on the board.)
Inside the tent, you can buy items displayed by the Night Merchant or craft decorative accessories at the Jewellery Table. The highlight of this event is the 'Mystery bag' — filled with various event items, available for purchase with Dinks. You can also buy the 'Blistering bottle', which summons a heatwave the next day, and the 'Glowing box', which plays different visuals depending on the time.
Opening a mystery bag will grant you 3 random items from the list below.

Jackaroo Wand (When using the wand, a whirlwind will form on the ground. Try jumping higher!)
There are glowing coats and dresses that shift colors, luminous tiles you can see even at midnight, and other unique items. Make your island stand out and enjoy!
Steam Achievements

Steam achievements are finally here — a long-awaited feature! There are 25 quirky and creative achievements you can earn while playing. Among them are 8 entries selected from the recent community achievement contest. Time to show off your Dinkum prowess!
(Some achievements are not applied retroactively — you’ll need to meet the conditions again even if they were already fulfilled.)
New Items

Added 3 new furniture / decoration items.
Now you can place the wooden swing even in normal mode. Recipes are available through villager requests, Franklin’s shop, or blueprints.
Added 14 new clothing / cosmetic items.
You can obtain it through the recycling bin, the clothing store, or as gifts from villagers.
Added 7 new accessories which can be crafted at the Jewellery table in the Night Merchant’s shop.
Changes

Crafting stackable items now allows bulk crafting. Looks like we can go to bed a bit earlier. Hehe...
In winter, if a Wary Mu nest was destroyed, it may now respawn on each Saturday after sleeping.

Bone Bow now fires further and charges faster
Added Steam keyboard support when playing on Steamdeck or Big Picture Mode with a controller

(Updated on 6/26) Villager heart deterioration has been lowered
(Updated on 6/26) Villager path finding while following the character has been improved
(Updated on 6/26) Whistling now makes a pet Diggo follow you, patting the Diggo will stop them following
(Updated on 6/26) A pet Diggo that is following you will have a glowing spot above their head
(Updated on 6/26) The refresh rate setting has been changed to automatically match the user's monitor refresh rate, and the option has been removed from the settings menu
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug that caused “Must be Empty” message to appear when picking up empty seats and beds
Fixed a bug that prevented the player from taking multiple photos once time had hit late
Fixed a bug that allowed pergolas to intersect with each other, causing item loss when picked up
Fixed a bug that prevented festoons from connecting to fences correctly
Fixed a bug that prevented crops from being watered when it rained while in the mines or off the island
Fixed a bug that caused projectile weapons to fire backwards when exiting aiming
Fixed a bug that blocked certain positions in houses and guests houses from placing items on them, especially after upgrading the building
Fixed a bug that caused item placement on certain tiles to appear on a different tile
Fixed a bug that occasionally prevented the player from entering a certain shop located on a boat
Fixed a bug that caused NPCs to speak over each other dialogue bubbles
Made a change to prevent player’s dresses and skirts getting stuck in their waist
Fixed a bug that caused a weapon to drop with 1 durability remaining
Fixed a bug that caused furniture to “bounce” the first time when entering a house or guest house
Fixed a bug that caused the price in the catalogue to be shown incorrectly by 1 dink
Projectiles fired by players no longer do damage to other players and farm animals
