Hey everyone, it has been a while since our last update, and we wanted to come forward with some exciting news for ARCANIUM. We apologize for the delays and want to thank you for your patience.
We spent most of the last weeks in meetings and working on a once-in-a-lifetime deal with an unannounced platform. This deal is the opportunity for the game to gain massive exposure and reach players all over the globe. We cannot be more excited about what is coming next!
What does this mean for ARCANIUM?
First, we will need more time to get to the finish line than originally planned since the scope of work increased significantly - we will now be aiming toward the end of Q4 2021 for a Steam PC final release. We are in the process of optimizing the game, reworking the UI/UX, writing localization tools, and translating the game into several languages that will be available at launch. The positive side of all this is that the game will soon run smoothly on any machine in your language of choice!
We received additional funding to make ARCANIUM the best it can be. We are now hiring new artists in the fields of VFX, Illustrations, and programming. Our goal is to put all these resources at our disposal to create the best Roguelike card game we can, which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
We have been pruning some convoluted systems, as well as refining the gameplay and game mechanics. ARCANIUM will become more polished, approachable, and we are working on a solid onboarding experience for new players. In the end, we want to make a game that is easy to pick up, with tremendous depth and replayability.
As a result, we have not been able to make any real progress on the PC build, and we will probably have to pause any updates until our small team is able to return to their original schedule. Expect us to go back to pushing updates for PC starting September, 2021.
