Some users have reported difficulty starting up Paradox Vector. According to the developers of the game's platform (3D Gamestudio) this can happen if the computer's DEP settings are set a certain way.
Here is the way to fix this issue:
Check how the DEP (data execution prevention) is set in your Windows configuration. Go to My Computer / Properties / Advanced / Performance / Settings / Data Execution Prevention, and make sure that it's in its default setting ("For essential Windows programs and services only"). A wrong DEP setting prevents on-the-fly compiling lite-C or C-Script source code.
I believe there is also a way to keep DEP settings customized, while making exceptions for certain programs. Either way should allow the game to start up correctly.
