Champion Balance Patch - Mixup edition
We had an amazing experience at the Mixup Lyon event, where we had the opportunity to playtest Shoot-Fighters and receive valuable feedback from players. We would like to express our gratitude to all the players who gave us their feedback, which was overwhelmingly positive. The energy and enthusiasm that the players brought to the demo was invaluable for us!
Based on player behavior and feedback, we realized that Navi needed a buff. Although she has strong high-level strategies, her effectiveness decreases when executing basic tactics that require a higher level of execution, which appeared too difficult for beginner players. We took this feedback into consideration and adjusted Navi's abilities accordingly.
On the other hand, we noticed that Alya's touch of death combo with a single special attack was becoming too dominant in gameplay, which made it less enjoyable for other players. We made some changes to adjust the balance of the game, ensuring that players can have fun while still maintaining a fair and competitive environment.
Champion buff - Navi
Navi was always designed to reward players who have good execution skills to unleash her full potential. However, during the playtesting at Mixup, we realized that her basic tactics required a level of execution that was too high for beginner players. The short stun duration on her direct attack and charged direct attack also proved to be too challenging for most players to reposition fast enough, causing them to miss out on potential combos and leaving them vulnerable to counterattacks.
What we did
To address this, we decided to buff Navi's direct attack and charged direct attack by increasing the stun duration, giving players more time to react to an opening in the opponent's defense and land a combo. We also reduced the charge time of her charged attack by 0.1 seconds to make it feel more responsive. Additionally, we increased the pushing power of her special attack to make it more effective at creating chaos on the battlefield. Overall, these changes will make Navi more accessible for beginner players while still rewarding high execution players with her full potential.
First impressions
The initial feedback we have received on the buffed Navi has been overwhelmingly positive. Players have expressed that she is now more enjoyable to play and a more reliable character overall.
Our intention was to make Navi's long attack strings easier to execute and more consistent, without making them overpowered. We believe that the longer stun duration on her direct and charged direct attacks has achieved this goal, making it easier for players to land combos and create intense pressure on their opponents.
With this change, direct combo strategies are now more viable and can compete with the zoning attacks and charged mines tactics, which have remained powerful pressure tools and were not altered.
DATA

Champion Buff and Nerf - Alya
Alya is a character that is easy to pick up and designed to take down unsuspecting enemies with a single beam combo attack. We want to maintain this style while also making the game more forgiving to beginner players. Although the raw damage of Alya's attacks needs to stay powerful, the ability to instantly kill an opponent with a single beam attack is too overpowered.
To address this issue, all Alya's beams have been adjusted for both her normal and BOSS form. This change prevents the beam from being too efficient against beginner players who struggle to use the bomb on reaction. Additionally, the BOSS mapping bullets were not powerful enough and have been given a boost. Overall, these changes will ensure that Alya remains a fun and exciting character to play while maintaining balance and fairness in the game.
What we did
Alya's signature beam attack has been toned down by reducing its damage output by 100 per bullet. Despite the change, the move remains a powerful combo tool, capable of removing 80% of the opponent's life bar.
Similarly, Alya's BOSS beams have also been weakened by 100 damage. However, they still retain their ability to deliver massive damage with a single combo, as intended. The change provides players with a slightly longer window to react and defend themselves.
On another note, we felt that the mapping attacks of the BOSS were not as impactful as they could be. As a result, we have buffed their damage, stun duration, and speed to make them feel more satisfying to use.
First impressions
Initial feedback from Alya players has been positive, as she is still capable of dealing significant damage to her opponents. However, beginner players are now less likely to be taken out by her beam attack while at full health.
Overall, the boss remains a formidable opponent, but the changes have made the fight feel more balanced. The mapping bullets now do a better job of hindering movement in the arena and feel more satisfying when they hit.
