Weekly Dev Update #50
Week of May 17th, 2021
This week, we’re gettin a face-lift. We have the functions of our new mechanics working in a way we like, now we’re making it look pretty. This includes working on special effects, UI, and other visual clean-up.
MAGIC MAGNETS
As a neat little bow on top of medium fishing, we’re working on a claw/magnet to capture the bigger fish. They’ll have a bit of magic installed too, so they’ll work on any fish (or kaiju!). The effect will wrap up the fish and keep them close while you decide whether to keep your haul or catch n’ release.
Here’s a quick preview of the effect:
Zach’s hard at work making the effects while Jeff and myself work on polishing up the menus and UI. Sarah’s putting her talents to their best use on more creatures and monsters which we’re always excited to see come to life.
