2022.4.11 V0.8.11 Theme Update "Face/Off"

V0.8.11 Theme update "Face/Off"

Foreword:

This is a milestone update that marks complete mastery of the character production pipeline, re-establishing the standard of clothing production for mass production of character appearances.

Update Content:

1. Reworked the appearance of the character

"Re-bone"

  • The meshes, materials and bones of the character body are completely replaced. Realism and recognizability have been greatly improved.
  • Suits are made with new processes and standards, adding dynamic parts. This establishes benchmarks and technical validation for subsequent apparel updates.
  • Roughly remade shirts and t-shirts. Fixed most body intersection issues.
  • The dynamic skeleton system has been updated to fix the effects of some objects such as hair and books. Also optimized for performance.
  • Changed to a more spirited standby stance.
  • Fixed Battlecry animations.
  • Note that the current accessories follow the previous model, and it is planned to gradually replace and increase. Most of the costumes are still placeholders, with dramatic colors to distinguish the characters, and then it is planned to gradually replace them with independent style models and add features such as dynamic effects. At the same time, the costume design will be more in line with the character's identity in the story to strengthen the narrative effect.

2. Improve the combat experience

"You got the touch!"

  • Added sound effects to weapon swings to further enhance the solid feedback of combat.
  • The hand-held action of the weapon has been adjusted to match the new skeleton, and the motion trajectory has been optimized.
  • Fixed the asynchrony of switching weapon actions in multiplayer.
  • Fixed the Ragdoll effect after knockdown, now behaves more naturally and no longer has serious issues with getting stuck in stairs.
  • Added track VFX to some other weapons.

3. Ease of use improvement

"Do you like what you see?"

  • Visual effects with high performance overhead are now disabled by default to improve the onboarding experience for low-end users. It can be turned on in the main menu.
  • Added a brief description of the perfume buff effect, now you can also know the code name of the mixed effect in the game.

4. Bug fix

"Okie dokie."

  • Fixed missing shadows for some weapons.
  • Fixed a performance issue with the electric arc VFX.
  • Fixed the issue that the lifesteal triggered by NPC would also issue a message prompt.
  • Fixed an issue where member names were displayed incorrectly in multiplayer LAN online rooms.
  • Fixed an issue where respawning with Shock and Combustion ailments would retain light sources in multiplayer.
  • Fixed the coverage of specular reflections by the AO effect of the building across the street outside the cinema window.
  • Fixed the problem that the initial sitting position and seat of NPCs in some levels were misaligned.

Conclusion:

Some feedback has been received recently, and the relevant content will be adjusted in the next version. Clothing reimagination will be kept for every future update. Stay tuned!
