Alright Family Man fans, we heard you. You wanted a harder Family Man experience, so we've just released HARDCORE MODE and NEW GAME+ as a free update, as well as fixed some of the left-over issues that had been popping up! New Game+ and Hardcore New Game+ is only available after
Alright Family Man fans, we heard you. You wanted a harder Family Man experience, so we've just released HARDCORE MODE and NEW GAME+ as a free update, as well as fixed some of the left-over issues that had been popping up!
New Game+ and Hardcore
New Game+ is only available after you have completed the game and have seen an ending. If you've finished the game already, you'll have to load that final save and see an ending to unlock it.
NG+ is there to let you play the game again but with all your perks intact, so you'll get to explore all the things you might have missed last time! Grab all those stories you couldn't finish last time and explore some different endings!
Hardcore mode is your other option, and is designed for veteran players! We've designed it to be super tough, with higher bills, tougher enemies and a more demanding family (sorry!). You'll need to work hard to keep up, but we've let your perks and levels carry over as a little help! Completing Hardcore mode gives you some cool rewards - let us know which is your favourite!
We've also made a couple of other changes!
KEYBINDINGS are now available! If you've been struggling with your keyboard layout or needing a more comfortable setup - we've got you!
Fixed several issues surrounding tucking in your kid - don't worry, if you're a terrible dad, nothing has changed!
Fixed weapon zooming - all those fiddly rifles should work correctly now!
Fixed the Mayor's papers - depending on your choices during the Mayor's storyline, you may have had to hold on to his papers forever. This is no longer the case!
Several fixes to unlocking achievements - you should get the right ones no matter your choices now!
New outfits for NPCs now unlock after your first playthrough - can you spot all the differences?
We've heard you, and we've got some good news for you! We're working on a New Game + to add in some new content and ramp up the difficulty, as well as a HARDCORE mode to really push those of you finding the game a little too easy! We'll be doing a bunch of things to make your lif

We'll be doing a bunch of things to make your life more difficult, from tinkering with the police presence and making sure Bruce's bills go up... You'll need to keep an eye on your family too, of course!
Also, thank you so much for over 100 reviews! We're SO blown away by how kind and positive everyone has been, you guys rule. We cannot WAIT to show you what comes next!
Don't forget to let us know what ending you got over in the Discord or as a review!

Hey there players. Thanks for checking out Family Man on launch week! We've been hard at work fixing and improving the game, here's a list of some of the things we've tidied up:
-Grace now shoots you if you attack her! -Karma bar now working correctly -Sherriff achievement now triggers more reliably -Dying and reloading loading time reduced -Berries are no longer overpowered! -Rum is no longer overpowered! -Fixes to the world collision -DID NOT fix crazy Mr Racoon
On top of that after player feedback we've added a summary screen to the end of the game that shows you how much stuff you missed so you can explore that on your next run! The game also now tracks every ending you've seen and to that end we've added a new achievement:
"The Real Deal" - Which unlocks for players who see all the endings!
It's been a great launch, thank you for playing and keep an eye out for updates!

Choices in RPGs tend to have far-reaching consequences, but what if your decisions hit a little closer to home? That's the premise of Family Man, a blocky RPG where your choices will affect your family and town, for good or ill, as you try to rustle up enough cash to pay back the mob. Five years after development started, the game has just been released on Steam, along with a launch trailer showing how far it's progressed since we first got a glimpse of it back in 2018. You'll take on "dozens of missions" in the pleasant-seeming town of Riverport, and earn money legally, or not so legally, as you attempt to pay off your debt in the three weeks before the mob will start, probably, breaking blocky legs. The store page elaborates: "Every decision you make affects everyone around you. The neighborhood will blossom or perish under the weight of your decisions, while the path you choose may lead to your household becoming stronger than ever... or the breakdown of your marriage and relationship with your child." It sounds like a similar tightrope to the one walked by Walter White in Breaking Bad, only, this time, we're able to steer the story ourselves, towards "multiple" endings drawing on those moral choices. (Thanks, Blue.)

We're so excited to finally launch, and we hope you love it as much as we do! Whether you turn Joe into a hardened criminal or a wholesome town help - we can't WAIT to see how you get on! You'll be working with some of Riverport's LIVELIEST characters and your choices will determine their fates. Be careful and make some good decisions (then come tell us all about them in the Discord!)
As ever, if you run into any trouble or bugs, feel free to reach out to us!
Family Man looks like a blocky, whimsical RPG but is actually a moral tightrope walk where you have 30 days to pay back the mob, while also trying to be a good husband and father. You can grind away in a regular job, or you can take on shady jobs for the mob that pay a lot better
Family Man looks like a blocky, whimsical RPG but is actually a moral tightrope walk where you have 30 days to pay back the mob, while also trying to be a good husband and father. You can grind away in a regular job, or you can take on shady jobs for the mob that pay a lot better. It's now content complete, so Broken Bear Games is hosting a final public beta that will start soon.
If you've played before, you'll spot a lot of changes. Combat's seen an overhaul. Apparently it was "a bit rubbish" previously, but now you'll have to lock onto enemies and keep an eye on how they're moving before throwing a punch. If you're going to be doing some crimes, you should learn how to brawl.
Since you've only got 30 days to repay your debt, you're always hurtling towards an unfortunate end. Thankfully, Broken Bear has tweaked the laws of physics and time now freezes whenever you talk to people, enter buildings or explore special areas, so you can occasionally take your time.
The final update will also add new characters, locations, household chores, jobs, crimes and more ways to affect the world and its inhabitants in positive and negative ways. This includes your family, who you'll now be able to interact with more, making them happier or more discontent. You can nurture a tight-knit, happy home, but you might also ruin your marriage and wreck your relationship with your son.
Launch probably won't be too far behind, so expect a release date soon. In the meantime, you can sign up for the beta here.

Hey everyone,
it's time for a Family Man update! Broken Bear Games has been working hard to get the game ready, and we're happy to say that Family Man is now content complete! Which essentially means that it's now very close to being in your hands. Yey!
So today we wanted to bring you the news that we'll soon be running a public Final Beta for the game, which is a bit like The Final Countdown, except you play video games instead of electric guitars.
Once it's ready to go (which should be soon), we'll send you a Steam key via email. You can keep up to date with when exactly that is at the Family Man Discord, at discord.gg/familyman
The Final Beta will contain a bunch of new content from the game, allowing you to see the sort of missions, people and extras that have been added.
So What's New With Family Man?
Oh, absolutely *tons*. There's way too much stuff to mention really, but here's a taster:
We reinvented time: Time now stops whenever you talk to people, or end buildings and special areas, allowing you to breathe a lot more
New characters: There are loads of new people to talk to (and do dirty deeds for). Check the video below to spot a few!
New areas: New locations to explore, and new shops and buildings to enter and interact with
New chores!: There are lots of new chores to do around the house! We all love chores
New jobs: There are new ways to make money, both legally and, well, not so legally
Mafia Missions: Bruce has new ways to give you missions, including calling you up on the phone. Be afraid!
Completely revamped combat: We changed the way combat works, as it was a bit rubbish before. You now lock on to the person you're brawling with, and have to watch how they move before deciding where to punch them. Pow!
More ways to affect the world: There are now lots of new ways to put your mark on the world. You'll be able to completely change the lives of the townspeople around you, in good (and bad) ways
Better interactions with your family: There are a ton of new ways to make your family happier (or otherwise)
Loads more stuff, but this list is getting a bit long now
Here's a new little video that teases lots of the new stuff in the game:

Family Man looks like it could be a very interesting sort of experience. Visually, it's colorful and blocky, like a Minecraft-inspired first-person adventure in a quaint, quiet seaside town. But the actual gameplay, about a man who has 30 days to repay a heavy debt to the mob, is
Family Man looks like it could be a very interesting sort of experience. Visually, it's colorful and blocky, like a Minecraft-inspired first-person adventure in a quaint, quiet seaside town. But the actual gameplay, about a man who has 30 days to repay a heavy debt to the mob, is something else entirely.
As your fellow villagers go about their lives, entirely unaware of your troubles, you have to decide how you're going to handle them. Being a good neighbor and productive citizen is tough, and the pay isn't great—but the more lucrative (and unsavory) opportunities that present themselves carry other costs.
"For every decision that Family Man throws at you, there are different ways to handle it. Your moral compass must guide you, leading you to earn cash the legal, more difficult way—or instead break a few laws here and there," publisher No More Robots said.
"Your choices impact how your family sees you, and can lead to your household becoming stronger than ever... or the breakdown of your marriage and relationship with your son."
Of course, if you don't pay off your debt, you'll end up like Joe Pesci in a cornfield. That's not really a desirable outcome either.
Family Man won't be out until sometime in 2019, but a closed beta will take place near the end of this year. You can sign up for that through the Family Man Discord channel, and learn more about the game at familymangame.com.
Hey everyone! Family Man is coming in 2019, but we'll be running a closed beta for the game towards the end of this year. If you'd like to sign up for free, simply go to the Family Man Discord and sign up there :)
