Slitherine has officially announced the acquisition of the Radio Commander franchise, with the series now being distributed under the Slitherine label starting today. Originally acclaimed for its innovative approach to real-time tactics through voice-command-style gameplay, the franchise has built a solid reputation for delivering a unique battlefield experience centered on communication, situational awareness, and command under pressure.
Alongside the acquisition, Slitherine unveiled Radio Commander: Pacific ’41, a new title for an already announced brand-new installment that expands the formula into the vast and unforgiving Pacific Theater of World War II. Building on the core mechanics of the original Radio Commander '64, the new title will once again put players in the role of a field commander directing troops exclusively through radio communications and limited battlefield intelligence. Players must interpret reports from frontline units, manage incomplete or delayed information, and make critical decisions without full visual access to the battlefield, replicating the tension and uncertainty of real-world command. It will be launched very soon in 2026.
Radio Commander: Pacific ’41 introduces new environments, factions, units, and tactical challenges unique to the Pacific conflict, from island-hopping operations to jungle warfare and amphibious assaults. The game also features expanded mission structures and narrative elements designed to deepen immersion and provide players with a fresh perspective on this historical setting while preserving the distinctive gameplay identity of the series.
