Labor of Love award
As you all probably know, The Steam Awards 2022 has started. Although Rustler is a 2021 game, there is that one category of "Labor of Love". It's dedicated to games that were published before 2022 but are still updated and cared for by their devs. Hoping that you see our engagement, we would like to encourage you to nominate Rustler in this category if you appreciate our efforts.

In July 2022, we also announced a Fantasy Rustler spinoff called Yet Another Fantasy Title. Your interest in the game exceeded our wildest expectations. We're working hard on the game together with Atomic Wolf studio. You know, we're kinda having "the time of our lives" with that fantasy setting and all pop-culture references there. It seems that Guy spilled the tea somewhere lately because we have received a lot of questions about further updates. Well, be careful what you wish for... or rather be happy that you get what you wish for because we have a little something for you.
However, before we introduce you to the July update, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continuous support and hundreds of hours of conversations when you've shared your feedback with us. We're thankful for each review because without them - both positive and negative - we wouldn't know which features need improvement. And even though we're not able to change many things at this stage of Rustler's development, we can promise you that we will take this experience with us and use it in the development of our other games.
So once again - thank you! Rustler wouldn't exist if it weren't for you and your participation in different surveys.
Steam Deck verified!
Yes, you see that right, in April Rustler has been marked as Steam Deck Verified. Since then many of you have played it there and thanks to your engagement, we were able to optimize Rustler for Steam Deck a bit more. Thank you! The list contains only the most often reported bugs, we've fixed many minor ones as well:

We've added some extra time to the mace murderfest so it would be a bit easier to complete.
If you quit the game right after watching the intro and then load the save, you should be able to continue the game without any problems.
The Taxi Guy fail report won't show up on the game's screen while playing other minigames.
If you've killed Sleazy in your previous gameplay, don't worry, you'll meet him again on the next run.
Winning MMA fights will no longer block you from launching minigames with the "E" key while sitting on a horse's back.
You shouldn't experience any problems with the "condemned" scenes anymore.
If you try to repeat the "His Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" quest while doing the "Take Sleazy Home" quest, Sleazy should now show up in the return point anyway and follow Guy.
In the side quest "By a Long Shot", Guy shouldn't be seen floating anymore.
You're not able to buy a safe house while riding on a taxi horse.
If the 3rd debtor hits Guy while he's sitting on a horse, Guy shouldn't get blocked from performing other actions.
Exploding red barrels and TNT will kill you without locking you in place. No chance of surviving the hit or getting stuck now.
Guy shouldn't have the chance to spin around in place now after jumping off the med cart.
We've tried to fix all language issues. Let us know if we've taken proper care of that.
You won't fail the Stayin' Alive minigame by hitting a passer-by anymore.
If you have both: psycho fan and mercenary following you on the map, you don't have to worry anymore that they will keep throwing each other off the horse. The psycho fan will keep following you even if the place on the horse's back is taken.
If you buy the bard's services and then fire him, and hire him once again, the bard won't throw a tantrum anymore - earlier, he had some trouble with his pride and didn't want to sing after being rehired. And you know, we've had "a talk" and now he'll be singing more beautifully than ever, whenever you decide to give him a job :)
Any quest markers on the map will now point in the one and only right direction. Thanks to them, you will be able to, f.ex., localize stakes in the quarry sooner.

We've improved the game's performance on Steam Deck.
The problem with two Guys showing up at once on your screen has been solved. You won't see a duplicated Guy again. At least not in our game.

When the last announcement appeared here just three weeks ago, welcoming spring and Easter event, we haven't expected to get pranked on April Fools so easily. Mother Nature had her plans, though, and decided to let it snow. In April, you see it right.
However, we wanted to let you know we're happy that you enjoy the in-game Easter event and our little April Fools' Day surprise! We've decided to bring you one more patch before Easter, though!
We've come bearing gifts... and fixes
The last update brought you new encounters that make the game's world feel more alive. Horse kicking random NPCs, cows falling from the sky, a psycho fan following Guy around, and many more. This time, we have NPCs randomly jumping on Taxi horse's back and taking a quick ride into the unknown. At least, it will remain unknown until you decide to chase them and check where they decide to get off.
Here come some fixes as well
Since the March update, you've reported some new and recurring bugs. We've made sure that this time all the most critical bugs are fixed and the game's balance is improved. We've also added some new checkpoints.

We've added new checkpoints in the quests: High Season, The Great Battle of Registration, and Meat Muffins.
Jousting and horse racing should be now working properly.
Easter event has an easier-to-fulfill condition of completion. You don't have to collect all the eggs on the map anymore to complete the event.
Controllers' bug is fixed and using gamepads shouldn't cause you troubles anymore.
MMA progress is counted correctly now. Due to that, the game's progress should be counted correctly.
NPCs won't steal the horse that Guy has just rode.
Bishop's guards will now properly react if you try to shoot them from a distance.
Guy shouldn't get stuck next to the tombstone anymore.
There shouldn't be any places left with a visible connection of textures.
Enemies' shields should be well visible now.
You should not be losing Guy's outfit that we wore when saving the game after loading this save.

Easter event
In April (starting April 1, 2022), you will be able to enjoy the Easter event focused on - you have no idea, right? - collecting Easter eggs in Rustler's world. An egg-cellent idea, isn't it?
New encounters and more!
Many of you wanted a more lively world. There you have it! We've prepared some new encounters for you to enjoy in the game, including:

Random NPC will try to steal other NPC's horses (doesn't apply to Guy, though, 'cause they know he's badass).
It's raining cows! Yes, you can encounter a cow falling straight on some NPCs' heads now!
Keep an eye on your cows! And on those not yours too. Because... UFO is coming to make their world amooooosing.
You can now meet your no. 1 fan! Or well, more like a psycho fan. He will follow you around and cheer for you when you fight! A pity they didn't have a camera in middle-ages, right? He could be a paparazzi!
Spanish Inquisition will be even more unexpected than ever. Play Rustler a couple of times and discover all of the locations where inquisitors can catch up with you!
You can encounter certain groups of NPCs fighting each other. However, mind that if you decide to join in on the fun, the only person happy about it will (probably) be Guy.
Some parked horses know what boredom is... and may kick random NPCs who are walking behind them!
Vinci + Madness = DLCs awaiting your attention

You shouldn't have any problems with horse despawning after finishing certain quests.
Problems with MMA progress and due to that with the whole game progress % count have been fixed. One fight was missing.
Buddy's HP is increased so he wouldn't die that easily. At last, what friends are for in this cruel world, right?
You shouldn't have any problems with throwing a holy grenade now.
The game shouldn't crash during longer chases.
There should be 5 Murder Fests available in the base game.
If a horse stands between you and Vin during dialogue before the first Vin's quest, there should not be any problems with Guy's pathfinding anymore.
You can't use an auto crossbow in MMA anymore.
You can't enter any of the houses in the first village.
Death costume won't be available to use at any point of the game without finishing
Pokehorse side-quest gives the correct horse as a reward now.
Killing the courier after getting the objective to go to the cemetery won't be considered a failure anymore.
Tables placed in Vinci's workshop should have proper colliders now.
Any z-fighting issues were fixed.
There shouldn't be any sharp texture seams visible.
Any misspelling issues should be fixed.

Steam Deck
If you're a lucky owner of the Steam Deck, you can now play Rustler without any problems, major bugs, and crashes. Have fun with Valve's newest invention, and let us know about your experience!

You've provided us with a lot of priceless feedback since the last update. Thank you for supporting us all the way! Here's a list of fixes that you'll find in today's update:

The automatic crossbow should work properly now :)
Quest A Hero This City Deserves should be easier to complete now due to correcting information about the wanted level and Capitain Middle Age's behavior.
Guy shouldn't be able to leave the playable area.
You shouldn't be able to get on high stones on a horse now. Many object colliders were fixed.
You cannot get blocked behind the stables in the second city's Army Camp.
Water shouldn't disappear from the sea anymore.
Texts in quest Witch, please should be set in the correct order.
Guy won't be able to shoot Vinci's assistant with arquebus, before getting an objective.
After getting into the tank, Guy shouldn't be seen running next to it.
There shouldn't be any more problems with audio disappearing after mounting a horse.
The Taxi mini-game was updated, and now you won't fail it due to knocking NPC down or getting chased by guards.
During dialogue with Vin Guy cannot run around anymore.
Minor changes of names used do describe specific game settings.
There is an improved Japanese translation.
There are also minor fixes to other translations that you've reported recently.
You should be able to get a rematch at MMA. The activation circle should also work well.
If you run the barrels over with your horse in the Science, peach quests, you will now fail the quest (there was a problem with progress blocking because of destroying barrels this way).
You won't have trouble with losing the arquebus after failing the MurderFest with an arquebus as a mandatory weapon.
DLCs await you

Here's a quick changelog:

Taunting is in da house! If you have a sword and a shield, you can taunt and provoke your enemies by hitting your own shield with your sword. [Tip: When Guy uses a sword with a shield, press RMB + Tab to taunt during the fight.]
Tank's image will change according to how damaged it is.
You can see the damage done to the tank more clearly now thanks to the smoke and splinters coming from it after each hit. You can also hear a "boom" when it breaks down.
And here are some minor bugfixes:

You can't push the priest into the church anymore in the A-men side quest.
Mercenaries shouldn't disappear from the map anymore.
Fixed a bug when the player is given a screen where it is monotone and a tutorial prompt is shown, if the player returns back to the main menu and selects a new game, the game will play very slowly.

Please, welcome our Santa Guy, who is here to give gifts to those who've been nice! His mighty red-nosed reindeers (who: 1 -> are not named Rudolph, because, come on, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer is one and only, 2 -> are not reindeers, but horses, because the real Santa didn't want to borrow Guy his ones) are awaiting your orders!
If you've been naughty (be naughty and save Guy the trip), take a look at the snow around you and prepare for a snowball fight!
When?
Christmas Event starts on December 1 and lasts until the end of the month! You have plenty of time to give it a try!
How to start the event?
Take a look around and find a Santa cart (the one with gifts on it!). It should be waiting for you in one of the carts' parking lots. Just hop right in and bring happiness and joy - or mayhem and despair, it's up to you - to the world
And now: look in the Rustler's game window and sing with us: Baby, it's Guy outside!

You can now run your enemies - or any NPCs - over with a tank!
Tank leaves a bit more dust behind.
Now you can find a horse at Vinci's location to spare you some time :)
The Flamethrower shouldn't keep firing during cutscenes.
When buying a new weapon, you will now see information in the right top corner of the screen about what will be replaced with it.
While riding a horse together with a hired bard, you will now be able to shoot him and fire him this way.
We've also looked into any crash logs you've provided us with and fixed them.

It's been over four weeks since Rustler's official launch and coming out of Early Access. We've been working hard all this time to fix bugs and issues that you've reported. Thank you once again for your help and for taking the time to leave your feedback.
But that's not all! We've also added some new stuff to the base game and fixed a couple of issues.
Here's a changelog:

There is a new mini-game called MurderFest, available in various parts of the game's world. Find them all!
The pitchfork is now available as a new weapon. Many peasants use them too!
Special horses needed to complete one of the side quests are now a bit easier to find!
The time of the day will change from day to night, and from night to day every time you use a save house.
If your save file got corrupted somehow, and it's not possible to recover it, you will see short information about it before the game launches. This mechanic also helps if you couldn't see any of the existing save files on the list.
During specific mini-games, the stamina level will reset after each stage of the mini-game.

The Crown achievement should work correctly now! A lot of you have asked about it and we’ve finally found the reason for its failure and fixed it!
Fixed bug where a player couldn't continue the mission "Witch, please" after destroying the cart.
Fixed a piece of dialogue flow in the "By a Long Shot" quest.
In the "A Very, Very Big Cow" quest prisoner's pickaxe won't disappear anymore.
Fixed bug in "By a Long Shot" quest where a player couldn't put the Round-Earther's body on the cart.
The lute doesn't become stuck to the chest anymore and is held in the correct position when swapping weapon modes.
Fixed a bug where the lute couldn't be used as a weapon.
In the "High Stakes" quest you won't be able to continue the cutscene if one of the Inquisition members dies.
Aiming animation won't switch between front and back repeatedly while aiming the Crossbow/Auto Crossbow backward when a player is on a horse.
Fixed bug where the list of saved games didn't follow the selection when player toggles slots using a gamepad.
Fixed bug in which skipping dialogue caused the nearby bard to get hired or fired.
You can't force the priest to attend the mass in Church Herding activity anymore.
Fixed bug in which hiring bard during Church Herding mini-game caused the disappearance of quest name and people counter.
Horses should spawn normally after finishing the This Neigh Land side-quest.
A player won't get locked in a blocking stance with a shield anymore.
After destroying the cart with a witch and reloading the checkpoint because of failing the quest, the destroyed cart won't appear on the checkpoint mark.
During the task 'Defend the forger's house for one minute. Don't leave the area' in 'A Brave New World' quest when the player mounts on a horse and takes a U-turn within the confined area, it is no longer observed that the title perceives the player is out of bounds.
The black screen won't appear after a successfully completed quest with the knights of the Holy Grail.
Fixed money exploit from save houses.
You won't get stuck in the MMA Arena after dying.
Salazar won't be attacking dead sailors anymore (we know, he wants to be gangsta TOO badly).
Crossbow NPCs will no longer remain idle in MMA Arena on the 2nd island after Guy moves closer to attack them with fists.
Pressing the right mouse button won't hide the weapon sight.
Dead bodies for the Body Collecting activity will no longer spawn in unavailable places.
Fixed the bug where the collision failed to change when the player proceeded to any horse cart and killed the horse.
All of the Kickstarter backers are present in the game.
Guy should no longer get stuck after collecting a horseshoe.
Guy shouldn't become invisible anymore.
The Taxi Guy activity should work properly - fixed bug where the timer continued counting for a couple of seconds more after NPC walked on the quest mark.
Dead horses shouldn't move around the map any longer.
Horses shouldn't tremble anymore.
Water should be visible in the game.
All untranslated lines should be translated now.
You can't buy armor when you're in the Death's costume.
Guy won't get stuck under any roofs anymore.
