As of version 2.1.3.a you can now play Fhtagn! Tales of the Creeping Madness remotely with your friends, without the threat of them stabbing you in the back when you are not paying attention. You can now play:

Co-operatively or competitively online with your friends (or frenemies).
Play on your tablet.
AND, if you have REALLY good eyesight, on your phone (unfortunately the font size cannot be optimised at this time, so a tablet is recommended).
To activate Remote Play, just follow these easy instructions on Steam’s webpage .
So what are you waiting for? Go end the world!

Hopefully by this time you have played Fhtagn! and thought "Hey, I can write better stuff than they can!". If the thought had not yet crossed your mind, it should - It's so easy to create your own adventures with the Fhtagn! Content Creator. All that is needed is a story idea and no programming is required. The community has already added a few fun mods on the workshop for other players to download and enjoy in-game.

How does it work?

Start with an idea (about anything you wish and as funny or as serious as you want);
write an intro for the story event;
choose two actions;
choose a stat for each action;
write pass and fail stories for each action;
and viola, you have a playable event in Fhtagn!
We provided players with a Quick start video guide, Content Creator Guide and even released all of Fhtagn!'s event stories to aid in this process. If you are interested in creating your own stories, you can check out more information about our Content Creator, on our forum or join our Fhtagn! Discord server.

We also provide our awesome community with a writing prompt on our Discord server (in the Story Time channel) and the community then writes amazing story contributions, which other members can vote on. Winning contributions are combined to create the final story event for players to enjoy ingame. After each completed Story Time event, the community mod will be updated with the new stories. Credits for contribution can be found in the Discord Community Mod sheet.
What the Fhtagn is this all about?
Dubbed the "funniest take on mystic doomsday cults in years", Fhtagn! is a choose-your-own-adventure game where you can play as one of four cultists intent on destroying the world by summoning an Ancient Horror. Decide how you will be preparing for the final ritual by visiting various locations in the unsuspecting town of Arkham and navigating iconic Lovecraftian events. Battle investigators, gangs, corrupt cops and horrors from the Depths to bring about the end of the world!
This text-based adventure game boasts:
• 93 000 words.
• Across 113 events with 370 potential story outcomes.
• Fulfil 1 of 24 roles with 56 role feedback stories.

Finally, you can sacrifice your friends and summon an Ancient Horror in the new Dark Young expansion. The expansion includes a new cult, new Ancient One, now with useable items, more stories, new game mechanics and more investigators.
There is a new cult in town – The Thousand Young (selectable from the Cult Select Page). These sycophantic backstabbers are devoted to the All-Mother and Mother only wants the best and the brightest. You have 6 rounds to build up the required stats needed to use the ritual items in the final ritual, but you also need to outwit your “friends” and make sure it is them on the chopping block and not you.
The Dark Young expansion is now live and you can find all the fixes, changes and additions below.

When the player has more than 4 mods installed, all will now display in the mod list
Defence achievement for Cthulhu is now achievable
Player order based on player influence did not take the starting player order into account when two players had the same number of influence points
Generic fallback event will no longer cause a game breaking error
Scrolling through the list of available resolutions with the controller now scrolls all the way to the bottom
Building mouse overs now correctly scale. Previously the mouse overs on 4k monitors were extremely small.

With the Halloween season in full swing, celebrate the most frightful of holidays with an expansion that will both chill and tickle your funny bone! On 22 October 2018, we will be launching The Dark Young expansion for Fhtagn! - Tales of the Creeping Madness.
The expansion includes:

New cult
New Ancient One
Now with useable items

In its first instalment, this party/boardgame-esque game saw the cult of The Dreaming Eye trying wake the thing of the idols, that green, sticky spawn of the stars (can you guess who?) to claim the world. Now, there is a new cult in town – The Thousand Young. These sycophantic backstabbers are devoted to the All-Mother and Mother only wants the best and the brightest.
You have 6 rounds to build up the required stats needed to use the ritual items in the final ritual, but you also need to outwit your “friends” and make sure it is them on the chopping block and not you. For every successful round you complete, you get ‘Not It’ stacks, which you use in the end of the game to determine who will be sacrificed to dear Mother. The player who receives the most votes will become the juicy glazed ham on the altar in the Dark Forest. Or will they? Should you be voted as the sacrifice, you will have the chance to escape and GTFO outta there!

To further cement this philosophy, we have created two new avenues for you as the community to interact with us and we want to remind you of the best way to enhance and experience Fhtagn!
Fhtagn! subreddit
The first way for you to communicate with us and help us to create the game that you want to play is through our new subreddit! We hope to share some informative and fun topics on the subreddit and to create another space where we can connect with players. So why not join us and let us know about your favourite stories in the game, which stories you would like to see or share with us a story that you want to write in our Content Creator!

When we created the Fhtagn! Content Creator, the idea was to empower players to create their own content and become actively involved in content they were playing in the game. If you wanted stories that are more sinister or about a certain topic, you could either download a mod or write it yourself. The game really shines in co-op with friends, so how about creating a campaign or fun stories for you and your friends to enjoy! There are so many possibilities.
Write stories for Fhtagn! with these easy steps:

It’s been almost a month since the launch of our mini-game Fhtagn! - Tales of the Creeping Madness and we are excited to announce our first major content update, lovingly called the “Dark Young update”. Okay, okay, we admit we could have chosen a subtler name and if you know anything about Lovecraft, it will be no surprise to you who the new Ancient One will be, but we just couldn’t resist! So without further ado … Iä! Iä! Let’s get this party started!
What can you expect:
The Dark Young update includes a new cult who worships the All-mother. This cult is far more back-stabbing than the Dreaming Eye, since Mother does not look kindly on failing and her children know that she will not suffer the weak to live.
To help even the most altruistic player embrace their inner backstabber, the game mode includes two new mechanics.

“Disappointed Mother” will cause the player to spawn Dark Young across the map and let’s just say they didn’t come to congratulate you on a job well done.
“Survival of the fittest” gives players stacks of “Not it!” whenever they pass an event or complete special objectives. At the end of the game players will use their stacks to determine which of them will be the sacrifice, but beware, Mother will not be happy if there are no snacks for her little babies.
These are just a taste of what you can expect! We are looking forward to have the update in your hands as soon as possible!

Hi Everyone! We're in full swing with the Dark Young update, but have not forgotten about those nasty bugs and nice-to-haves! Thank you all for your patience with the growth process, we really appreciate it!
Features

We really wanted to give credit to our modders for the excellent work they have done, so from now on when you play a mod, you will be able to see the mod and the modder's name at the bottom of the story area.
Fixes

Can now scroll through the mod list using the controller's right stick.
Controller stick threshold checks were faulty. Thresholds being checked correctly now, and change to controller threshold increased.
Moving down on Mod screen with top button selected jumped to bottom button. Now correctly flows from top, to mid, to bottom.
Content Creator fix: Partial destruction of buildings should now correctly only destroy the correct option, instead of the whole building.
The way forward
As we mentioned before, we are hard at work on the Dark Young update and we will be sharing some of the progress shortly. We also have some special plans for modders, which we will reveal soon. Other than that we will be sticking to our patching schedule, to fix any of those annoying bugs, as they creep out of the Depths. Thank you all for your support! Stay sane!

Thank you to everyone for playing Fhtagn! and for the incredible feedback we have received so far. It has been a week since Fhtagn! launched and all kinds of Yrm-Tahl worms had come out of the woodwork. Don’t worry, we have maxed out our Sanity and Animal Husbandry and we have wrangled up those troublesome critters (bugs) and banished them for good!
This update focuses primarily on the way Fhtagn! deals with user created content, specifically in the way new mods are uploaded and updated on the Steam Workshop. For modders, please look at the updated Content Creator document, for changes. You can see what has changed in the revision history, on the first page. To all the achievement hunters out there, we added 16 new achievements for you. Finally, as we mentioned, we tracked down a few bugs and implemented fixes for them, details below.
Features

Investigator can now become a part of the ritual – Every ritual needs a pesky investigator, don’t you think?
Added “how mods work” info and “how to create mod” infographic to the mods screen. We don’t want you to miss out on all fantastic and insane stories created by the community.
Steam workshop update - Mods must now have a preview image. Because everything looks better with pictures.
Steam workshop update – Existing/published mods can now be updated. If you wanted to change the love interest in your story from a Shoggoth to a Mi-Go – now you can!
Added 16 new achievements. Oooooh, shiny!
Fixes

Elder signs are now correctly awarded for stats at or above 10 on the score screen.
Can no longer open the elder sign unlock confirmation with controller, if you do not have enough elder signs.
Spending riches on event option is now reflected in the event summary.
Button active state no longer removes button side images.
Steam cloud data now being loaded when the game starts to avoid syncing issues when playing on a different PC, or with multiple accounts on the same PC.
Fixed an issue with character anti-climaxes, where anti-climaxes based on stats showed too frequently. This was balanced out so that anti-climaxes based on role and stats have an equal chance of appearing.
Fixed an issue with follow-up events which didn’t trigger properly and the events will now trigger more consistently.
Found and fixed a few typos.
The Haunter of the Dark mod has been down-scaled slightly to make the first couple of follow-up events a bit easier (it is still very difficult though, so BEWARE!).
The way forward
We are hard at work on the Dark Young update, which will include more investigators, a new Ancient One, with new game mechanics and plenty of backstabbing. We will also continue to improve the game and Content Creator based on the feedback from the community.
