Dakar 18 - Update v.13 - ONLINE RANKINGS
We are releasing the Thirteenth update, with the implementation of the "ONLINE RANKINGS": Players can now go to the options and authorize to share their times with all the other competitors to compete worldwide for the best position in each class category: Cars, Bikes, Quads, Tru
We are releasing the Thirteenth update, with the implementation of the "ONLINE RANKINGS":
Players can now go to the options and authorize to share their times with all the other competitors to compete worldwide for the best position in each class category: Cars, Bikes, Quads, Trucks and SxS.
At the end of each stage the worldwide online rankings will be displayed so players can compare their ranking position with every other player in DAKAR 18.
Every player is welcomed to keep trying and improve their position in the world ranking charts.

Who will be the best Dakar Rally digital pilot in the world?
New Features:

NEW: Added Online Rankings features in the game. When the player completes each stage, and has the online ranking registry active in the game Options, stage times will be registered and displayed to other players.
NEW: Added “ONLINE RANKING” to the Explore Menu. Player will be able to list a global ranking comparing the best time, per category and difficulty level.
NEW: Added the option “USE ONLINE RANKING” to participate in the online ranking chart.
General Bugs fixed:

FIXED: Game now saves the progress after a Neutralization.
FIXED: Achievements with progressions are now saved to allow a progression after an interruption.
FIXED: Option to return to Menu when in Bivouac.
FIXED: Bike Roadbook is now working even if the player turns off the HUD in the options.
FIXED: Roadbook notes correctly updated even if RoadBook On/Off option is activated during a stage.
FIXED: AI penalties are now correctly calculated when player arrives last in a Stage.

We are releasing the twelfth update, with the implementation of the custom weather conditions for “Multiplayer Online” and driving physics improvement on Quads.
In addition, we have included many other improvements and fixes from reported issues.
New Features:

Added speed limit rules for trucks on the selective sections of the stage (outside of speed control zones)
Added Custom Time of Day and Weather for online races, set by the host in his lobby settings
Added "Escape" (Keyboard) or "B" button (Xbox gamepad) to quit the game from the main menu
Features improved:

Improved the driving physics on Quads
Improved rag-doll on impacts
Improved the lights on Handbrake on Bikes and Quads
General Bugs fixed:

Fixed: When exiting a stage in career mode while in a special after Neutralization, game now continues from where progress was left off instead of forcing player back to beginning of the entire stage before Neutralization
Fixed: Bug where Roadbook notes could not be changed in bike cockpit if HUD was turned off in the options
Fixed: Rag-doll now doesn't fall through the ground
Fixed: When playing in PC with multiple input devices plugged in, game no longer crashes when entering the main menu from the start menu
Fixed: Potential crash with rag-doll physics
Fixed: Can no longer open the pause or game menu during a treasure found animation, which cancelled the animation and prevented further animations from playing

We are releasing the tenth update, with the content update focused on improving the gameplay experience and preparing the videogame to accept future downloadable content.
We added the "QUICK RACE” game mode so that the players may be able to try their best time performance on any single stage, with any vehicle, at any time, without needing a career!
In addition, we have included many other improvements and fixes from reported issues.
New Features:

Added the “QUICK RACE” in the Explore Menu. Now the players will be able to perform a time trial with any single stage, with any vehicle, at any time, without needing a career.
Added the “DAKAR SERIES” menu to support DLC content
Added the rotation angle definition in the Options (from 180º to 1080º) for the Steering Wheels
Added the Game Option to hide the pilot hands in the Cockpit view
Added the Game Option to hide the steering wheel in the Cockpit view
Added the possibility to return back to the Main Menu from the Bivouac
Added the Race Time, Repair Time and Penalty Time in the Stage Rankings
Added the possibility for the AI competitors to receive penalties and repair times

New Features:

Implemented permanent WayPoint indicator (WP) on Rookie modes (on and off-track)
Implemented the option to play the Tutorial or not at the Start Menu
Implemented crash camera effect
Implemented impact particles
Features improved:

Improved: Previous used camera are now restaured when the player returns to the game, in career mode
Improved: Performance on stages with vegetation
Improved: Some road book icons were adjusted to improve navigation
Improved: Removed the vehicle to tow mechanics when the player choose challenge mode in the tutorial
Improved: The ocean effect
Improved: Removed the WayPoint indicator (WP) on training lessons for learning proposals

Particularly useful for players that want to act as navigators while other players drive with the HUD turned off.
It is also intended to be a way for players to carry all the Dakar 18 Road Books everywhere (as a pocket edition), to study and prepare for their gaming marathon.

This patch mainly focus on generic device handling and introduces a new Device Manager and a new Device Wizard to help players configure their steering wheel / pedals / gear shifter / handbrake in a generic, simple and in-game way.
We feel this new functionality is ready, although, should you encounter any issues, please report back and we will promptly do our best to fix it as this is still an evolving feature and we intend to make it the best possible with your support.
We tweaked the steering wheels code. If you find any issues with your device, we recommend to access the Control Settings and "Reset to Defaults".
New Features:

Improved: AI driving is now more realistic
Improved: AI behavior changes according to the difficulty mode more noticeable
Improved: Truck tires' damage adjusted
Improved: Better UI display when picking up a treasure in Treasure Hunt mode
Improved: Peugeot 205 T16 engine and gear box improved (it now reaches a top speed of 170km/h)
Improved: Wheel particle system management on a world shift
Improved: Server list now shows server state ('Lobby' or 'In Progress')
General Bugs Fixed:

Fixed: NPC vehicles disappeared during world shift
Fixed: Some assets had glitches and could end up with different visuals during world shift

We are releasing the fourth update with our fixes and content update.
This includes the first content update with significant improvements to device handling and customization (steering wheels and pedals for now) along with much more, check the list bellow.
We recommend to make a "Reset to Defaults" in the Control Settings after downloading the patch in order to avoid possible problems with re-assigned bindings.
Steering wheel improvements:

Fanatec generic steering wheels are now supported
Logitech G920 steering wheel is now supported
Action and axis mapping for Steering Wheels implemented in the Control Options
Added external configuration file for unknown Steering Wheels (check technical documentation)
General improvements:

Several art fixes and improvements in the game world
Race ground flags have collision disabled for vehicles (temporarily while implementing flag dynamics)
Metal street sign on Tutorial level is now destructible
Improved storm Visual Fx: lightning bolt, rain and sparks particle effects
Tweaked moonlight color values to be more accurate
Adjusted clouds and horizon color intensity
Improved overall vehicle damage model
Improvements to the replication of vehicles in multiplayer
Added keyboard input to the shovel excavation action
General bug fixes:

Fixed: General adjustments on some Road Books
Fixed: Gear box won't break and staying in neutro when exiting an Passage Control waypoint
Fixed: Transmission option don't change when exiting a Passage Control waypoint
Fixed: Vehicle damage adjustments according to difficulty (including suspension)
Fixed: Force feedback / vibration is now only sent to the device in-use (gamepad or steering wheel)
Fixed: Gear box settings now keep the previous settings (career vs not career)
Known steering wheel related limitations:

Other USB peripherals, despite Steering Wheels and Pedals are not used yet
Clutch functionality is not yet used
Starting the game with a steering wheel may result in right input until the wheel is turned
Axis and special buttons may not be yet recognized on some devices
Force Feedback stops working when disconnecting and reconnecting a steering wheel in-game
Steering Wheel Dpad may be recognized as gamepad input when re-binding an action / axis
