We’re incredibly excited to share two massive milestones for Hubert today. First up, our crowdfunding project on Startovač is officially live!

We’ve always believed that games truly come alive when they are fully immersed in their own setting and culture. That's why for this project, our main focus is raising the funds needed to secure a full, professional Czech voiceover.
Good localization and high-quality voice acting are incredibly important to us, but as an independent studio, funding it fully is always a huge hurdle. By backing this project, you are directly helping us bring onboard top-tier local voice talent and professional recording studios to give Hubert the vibrant, authentic voice he deserves.

We've just pushed a brand new update to the Steam Demo! Here is what’s new and ready to play:
Czech Voiceover Preview 🎙️ – A first look (and listen!) at our brand new localized voice acting directly in-game.
FMOD Audio Integration 🔊 – We've completely overhauled our sound system for cleaner, deeper, and more immersive audio.
Controls Remapping 🎮 – You can now fully rebind your keys and controller layout to perfectly fit your playstyle.
Improved Camera Control 🎥 – Smoother and more responsive camera behavior during exploration.
Refined Duels ⚔️ – Combat and duel encounters have been tweaked for better responsiveness, flow, and overall feel.

What this means for our 3-person team
In the world of indie development, these numbers are a lifeline. Because of your support, Hubert has moved from a "small project" to a trending heavyweight. This momentum ensures that we can focus 100% on polishing the final experience for our full release.
A Note on the Journey Ahead
We’ve seen the questions in the forums, and we want to be transparent: Hubert is a handcrafted, cinematic experience. It is designed to be a tight, emotional 3-hour journey (or about 5 hours if you’re a completionist!).
We are focusing on high-fidelity polish over "endless hours." Think of it as a premium short story you can finish in a night. A story we hope stays with you long after the credits roll.
What’s next?
The Wolf Fighting Segment: We’ve seen your clips! We’re working on polish passes based on your demo feedback.
Community Feedback: We are reading every forum post and bug report. Your input is helping us fine-tune the game for the full launch.
Final Polish: We are entering the home stretch of development, ensuring that every animation and environment detail meets the standards you've seen in the demo.

We’ve been hard at work ensuring that Hubert feels right at home on the Steam Deck. Whether you’re on a train or lounging on the couch, we want your experience with Hubert to be seamless.
We have officially optimized the game to meet Valve’s "Verified" standards. Here is exactly what we’ve updated:
Full Controller Support: Every menu and gameplay mechanic in Hubert is now fully navigable using the Steam Deck’s physical controls.
Legible Text: We’ve scaled our UI and font sizes to ensure everything is crystal clear on the 1280 x 800 display.
Native Glyphs: No "Press E" confusion! The game automatically detects your controller and displays the correct Steam Deck button icons.
Proton Compatibility: We’ve tested Hubert extensively on SteamOS to ensure stable performance and no crashes.
Seamless Entry: If you need to name a save file or enter text, the Steam Deck on-screen keyboard will now trigger automatically.
🔧 Recommended Settings for Steam Deck
To get the best balance of visual fidelity and battery life, we recommend the following in-game settings:
Resolution: 1280 x 800 (Native)
Graphics Preset: Medium
Shadow Quality: Low
Frame Limit: 30 FPS
Note: Lowering Shadow Quality to Medium provides a significant performance boost on the Deck’s APU while keeping the rest of the world looking crisp on the High preset.
Tested in the Real World!
Hubert in action! We’ve been playtesting on the Deck at recent events, and the feedback has been fantastic. Seeing players take Hubert on the go has been a highlight for our team.
Current Status: Playable & Polished
While we wait for the official "Green Checkmark" from Valve’s review team, the game is 100% playable from start to finish on the Deck right now.
Developer Note: If you encounter any bugs while playing on handheld, please let us know in the Steam Discussion forums! Your feedback helps us get that official Verified badge even faster.
