By this announcement, we would like to talk about The Frontier Outskirts, about it's history and current state. As you already noticed, the game has pretty awful reviews and it's not playable as we knew from the second update. Why is that? Well, let us tell you a story.
The Frontier Outskirts was the first game developed by the cancelled studio called Matt's Creations. The team was full of freelancers and guys who didn't have any experiences and just started developing such a game. Later on as the studio was cancelled, half of the team migrated to the new studio with bigger and more experienced team called Struct9 (as you already know) and we took a responsibility for the game. We admit that the game-project was a BIG MESS. We were trying our best and were working really hard to make your experience as best as possible. But well... As the time went by, it got worse. Many of us in our team gave up on the project and nobody had a taste to continue in the development. It was just so broken and we had many new and much more interesting projects in development such as The God.
So in the recent months we were thinking about hidding the game or just shutting it down from the store as it doesn't meet our standards, it's simply unplayable and we will get worse reviews just because the previous team left us the project in the unusable state. We are very aware that there were some issues, misunderstanding with the community, bans and so on.
By this annoucement, we would like to inform our players, who bought The Frontier Outkskirts that they are still able to play the game, but it will be no longer visible on the Steam Store and we will be no longer take a responsiblity about it's development. We know that there is no excuse and we might have failed you, but we had a really bad conflicts in our team & we were trying our best to fulfil your requirements. We will continue in game development with unique gameplay & game mechanics and we hope, we didn't lose your trust.
The Frontier Outskirts was great idea, but really, really bad execution with bad developers. We promise that this will not happen again as the Struct9 is a new team with new vision & ideas. We will do our best to make unique games & applications and make our community proud.
