We want visual novels to thrive everywhere, so we are disappointed that some actions we took to give new audiences access to visual novels only resulted in confusion and mistrust.
If you purchased the Chinese-language release of WAGAMAMA HIGH SPEC and were not satisfied with the quality, we apologize. If the circumstances of the release raised any concerns, we apologize. We would like to take the opportunity to explain what happened and how.
Sekai Project purchased a translation from an individual who misrepresented their rights and ownership of the WAGAMAMA HIGH SPEC translation.
This resulted in a situation satisfactory to no one: Sekai Project was tricked into selling an unauthorized translation and customers received a game whose translation did not meet their standards--or ours.
We apologize both for having been taken advantage of and for ultimately using a translation without the approval of its translators.
We’re determined to make this right. To that end, we will be working with Syawaseworks in an official capacity for future projects. Together, we will continue to provide our Chinese-language audience with the high-quality visual novels you deserve.
